Dancing with the Stars Episode 7: A Difficult One for the Celebrities

The Situation and Bristol Palin Are in Trouble

Jolie du Pre
Acoustic Week was a hard one for the Dancing with the Stars celebrities who had to dance on a round stage, 30 inches off the floor. One wrong move and there could be disaster. This week the stars were judged twice - for performance and for technique. The dances were the Rumba and the Argentine Tango. As the Dancing with the Stars celebrities were introduced, all of the ladies looked sexy, including Bristol Palin, who vowed to wear only modest outfits. The rigorous practices are also a form of "Celebrity Fit Club" as each week the stars look a bit thinner and fitter.

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya

Kurt and Anna prepared for the Rumba, a very sexy dance. Kurt let us know that he is a Christian and that it is a challenge to dance intimately with someone who is not his wife. Therefore, Kurt's wife and Anna's husband came to a practice as a show of support for Kurt and Anna's dance.

When it came to the big night, one can see that Anna is one of the best dancers with her perfect technique, fabulous smile and fit body. But Kurt struggled a bit with the technique. Bruno Tonioli said Kurt needs to make sure his movements flow and travel, because he looked like he was catching a football with his arms, which is not the look one wants. The couple received a 15 for technique and a 19 for performance for a total of 34.

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Brandy looked gorgeous in her white costume and long hair. But during rehearsals, the beautiful Brandy told us, "I don't feel sexy unless I'm in love." Brandy has not been in love with someone for 6 years. Therefore, Maksim took her to a romantic restaurant to try and ignite a mood. It worked.

"I've been waiting for the real Brandy to show herself," said Carrie Ann Inaba. They received a 22 for technical and a 26 for performance for a total of 48.

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke

To prepare for the Argentine Tango, Cheryl reminded Rick that he had to look like he was in control. "Own it," said Cheryl. The problem is there would be lifts, and Rick was afraid he may drop Cheryl, and therefore hurt her. In the end, the lifts were good, but the performance that started out with a bang ended with a bit of a whimper. The technical score was 19. The performance score was 20. The total was a 39.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer

With Kyle just 19, getting sexy for the dance was a concern for Lacey. "He just turned 19. I don't know if he knows what sexy is yet," said Lacey. Of course, Kyle is an excellent performer, but his technique did not flow well for Len Goodman. Carrie said Kyle lost track of his upper body. Technical score was 18 and the performance score was 22 for a total of 40.

The Situation and Karina Smirnoff

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino struggled hard during Acoustic Week. "I feel like today was not a good day," said Mike during rehearsals. But Karina kept it real, acknowledging that they are weak technically and that they need to bring it in for performance. But that didn't work this week.

"A terrible mess," said Bruno. The dance was bad throughout and when the score was 12 for technical and 16 for performance, Mike said, "That's definitely a situation." However, he kept a smile, and a smile, along with a positive attitude, can get you far. The Situation was just glad that when he lifted Karina he didn't drop her.

Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas

Florence and Corky Ballas, the father of dancer Mark Ballas, are the oldest couple. Therefore, they didn't want their Rumba to look undignified. Florence asked her daughter to judge a rehearsal and Corky asked his son Mark to do the same. The dance was super sexy, but at the end of the dance, Carrie was a bit embarrassed, "What just happened? You're Mrs. Brady." But Len said it was much better than he expected. The technical was 17 and the performance was an 18 for a 35

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough

They fell off the top of the leader board last week. But that was last week. Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are back on top with a spectacular Argentine Tango. "This really is prime time delight," said Bruno.

"One of my favorite tangos," said Len. The couple got a 27 for technical and a 29 for performance.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

Dancing the Rumba is a tough one for Bristol who says she's a 19-year-old mom who is not sexy. Mark said, "The Rumba and Bristol have absolutely zero in common." Bristol is good with technique, but still fails to act the part.

"What's sad is you have all the makings, but there's no effort," said Carrie. In the end, Bristol got an 18 for technical but only a 14 for performance.

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani

Audrina Patridge was just a receptionist in a photo studio five years ago. But the person who has had no training before Dancing with the Stars does an excellent job. However, Audrina must make sure to extend her foot properly, Carrie noted. In addition, the performance was a bit cold. "I didn't get transported to a seedy club," said Len. The technical was a 24 and the performance was a 22 for a total of 46.

The results of episode 7 will air 9/8c on Tuesday, October 12 on ABC
