Dancing with the Stars Finals: Erin and Maks Were Dancing in the Sheets

The cameras are ready, the stage is set, and the spray-tans have been applied. It's time for the Dancing With the Stars finals, and three teams are hoping to take home the trophy. Nicole, Evan, and Erin are all looking for perfect scores because that is what it may take to win this year. The couples have been that good.

It's been 10 weeks of hard work, and it all comes down to these final performances. The first routine tonight will be a redemption dance. It's a chance to show improvement and it's a redo for a dance they could've done better.

Maks and Erin started out with a samba that was energetic and fun. Erin has improved and Maks deserves a lot of credit. Erin received 29 pts. and is the leader in the club house. Up next, Evan and Anna; another good performance and teamwork. They received a 28, one point behind Erin at this stage. Nicole and Derek were picked to redo a rumba. It was sensual and almost perfect, with the exception of a possible lift. Carrie Ann did penalize them a point for a lift and Nicole also earned a 28.

On to the freestyle dance. This is my favorite dance and you never know what to expect. Erin and Maks were first. For the first time ever a bed was placed on stage. It was hot and heavy on the dance floor. Was it a dance or a love story? It was different and risky. This round they got a 26, for a total so far of 55. Evan and Anna re next. They worked very hard on this freestyle as a make or break dance. They were "Footloose" and impressive. But the judges were expecting more, and the judges gave them a 24, for grand total of 52.

Derek and Nicole hit the stage next and my expectations were high. It was a difficult routine, a high degree of difficulty, but one slip at the end. It was almost a 30, but a 27 will have to do for a total of 55.

It's up the fans voting now, and two more performances tomorrow night. Stay tuned!
