As the night began, we learned that they will be dancing two dances. The first performance they know the music, which allows them to choreograph the entire dance. The Instant Dance is completely different. The surprise with the Instant Dance comes after they receive their first scores. They learn the song and then have 20 to 45 minutes to learn the music and take the choreography they already created and put it to music.
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer (Scores: 27 and 29) danced the Viennese waltz and were rewarded with triple nines on their first dance. Not only was Kyle a beautiful dancer, but I became an instant fan. He was flawless in his performance, and really just floated across the dance floor.
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough (Scores 29 and 30) danced the quickstep. From the video shown, who knew if she was going to give up or keep going. Yet she didn't stop dancing or give up. Instead, she gave a performance that truly was a masterpiece. Nothing is stopping her from giving her best, and DWTS viewers love her tenacity!
Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya (Scores 24 and 24) danced the waltz. There is something so persevering about Warner as he comes out on the dance floor. He danced beautifully and really had a smile on his face that will get DWTS voters to vote for him, I think.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas (Scores 24 and 23) danced the Argentine tango. I was once again surprised at how well she danced. Yet the judges were not impressed. They gave her credit for having a good dance, but seemed to want more. They clearly think she isn't DWTS-quality. I, on the other hand, continue to be be a Palin fan!
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Scores 29 and 28) danced the waltz. Brandy not only overwhelmed the judges but she will bring in votes from that dance. Her technique was amazing and she looked like a beauty on the dance floor.
Last night is another reminder that each celebrity has to bring out his/her best to get to the Semi-Finals. There is no clear-cut winner, as we have several front-runners. The question remains: Who do you think should be sent home?
