Dancing with the Stars - Mario Lopez Biography

"Vote for me on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars!" Mario says on his My Space page. The last time he logged in was 11/17/06. But, unfortunately he lost to former Dallas Cowboy Emmet Smith.

Mario Lopez Jr. is of Mexican descent, and was born in San Diego, California, on October 10th, 1973, to Mario Sr. and Elvira Lopez. (He's a Libra, ladies!)

He's cute, dimples and all, but although his first professional role was on the series, "A.K.A. Pablo," his drumming talent is what I remember him by on the 80's show "Kids Incorporated." Mario is probably best known as the "high school jock" A.C. Slater from NBC's popular teen comedy series "Saved by the Bell." Before being cast in "Saved by the Bell," he was a dancer.

Before graduating from Chula Vista High School in 1991, Mario was an amateur wrestler and was on the high school wrestling team. During his senior year, he was a state place winner in California, weighing in at 189 pounds, and in 1990 ended up taking 7th Place at the California State High School tournament. However, athletics aside, his true passion in life is dancing and he has aspirations of one day performing at Radio City Music Hall in New York City (so I'm sure he is pretty burned up about being runner-up to an NFL player!).

He has a younger sister, Marissa, who is currently married to Houston Texans linebacker, Kailee Wong. Mario was married once before. He proposed to actress/model Ali Landry in the Summer of 2003, but he allegedly cheated on her the day before the wedding and also after the wedding. He got busted by onlookers during his bachelor party. When she found out, Ali had the marriage annulled. They were only married from April 24, 2004 - May 12, 2004.

Currently in production, Mario will be staring in the sports drama "The Goal," where he'll play a young man from the slums of Rio de Janiero, Brazil, who becomes his country's premiere soccer player.

Some of Mario's interests are boxing, football, dancing, acting, swimming, and hanging out with his family and friends. He likes to listen to Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Dandy Warhols, The GO Team, Black Eyed Peas, DMX, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Pulp, Oasis, Suede and The Rakes and some of his favorite movies include All James Bond movies, Anything by John Waters, Any Francis Ford or Sophia Coppola, Quentin, or Kevin Smith, Scarface and The Break Up.
