In tonight's two hour live episode of Dancing With the Stars, the five remaining celebrities performed two dances, a ballroom dance and a Latin dance that included a minimum of a 15 second solo. Still recovering from her rib injury, Melissa Rycroft was back on the stage and received the best combined score of the night for her two performances. Melissa and Tony Dovolani received a 27 for their Viennese Waltz. Bruno thought it was lighter than air and very beautiful. Carrie Ann enjoyed the fluidity of the dance but feels Melissa needs to work on her upper body. Len enjoyed the romance but said he is still not a fan of her feet. For their Latin dance, Melissa and Tony performed a perfect Samba and received a perfect 30 from the judges. Len said, "100% you should be in the semifinals." Bruno thought their Samba had anything anyone could want. Carrie Ann thought the performance was flawless. The two scores combined give Melissa and Tony at 57 out of 60 and places them at the top of the leader board.

Olympic Champion Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballis received a 27 for their Quickstep. Len thought it was fun, joyful and great entertainment. Bruno said, "You danced like Sporty Spice. Great footwork." Carrie Ann said it was her best dance ever and apologized for taking off a point because they broke their hold. In the Latin round, Shawn and Mark performed a Paso Doble and received an impressive 29 from the judges. Carrie Ann said, "You delivered the drama. You nailed it." Len liked her solo performance and thought her footwork was great. Bruno thought it was great and liked Shawn's killer instinct. Adding both scores together, Shawn and Mark are tied for second with a 56.

Tied with Shawn and Mark, are Giles Marini and Cheryl Burke, who also received a combined score of 56. In the ballroom round, Giles and Cheryl performed the Foxtrot and received a 29 from the judges. Len enjoyed watching the performance, but told Giles that he needs to straighten up his legs. Bruno thought it was in a class of its own. Carrie Ann told Len he was crazy and that she would see them in the semi-finals. In the Latin round, they performed a Rumba and received a 27 from the judges. Carrie Ann thought it was very hot, but didn't like the beginning and thought Giles's solo was self-indulgent. Len thought the performance was fantastic, but didn't like the solo. Bruno thought it was uneven, but still very good.

Rapper Lil Kim and Derek Hough received a 25 for their Argentine Tango. Carrie Ann thought it was okay, but not her best performance. Len thought it was a challenging dance and there was great quality in the routine. Bruno said, "You tried to be a lady, but you are more comfortable being a tramp." In the Latin round, they received a 27 for their Samba. Bruno felt Lil Kim was in her element. Carrie said that she's never seen a body shake like that it was great to watch. Len said, "It was absolutely delicious." After two dances, Lil Kim and Derek have a combined score of 52.

Rodeo cowboy Ty Murray and Chelsea Hightower's Tango performance earned them a 25 from the judges. Bruno commented on Ty's strength and determination. Carrie Ann said he has come a long way. Len thought he captured the flavor and essence of the dance and said it was Ty's best dance so far in the competition. Ty and Chelsea's Rumba scored a 21 from the judges. Len thought it was sweet that Ty performed his solo in front of his wife, Jewel, and then said, "You went from a peacock to a feather duster." Bruno said Ty is very likeable, but in the quarterfinals, it is about ability. Carrie Ann thought it was creative but not enough for the finals. Combining the scores from both dances, Ty and Chelsea have a score of 46 putting them at the bottom of the leader board.

Tune in tomorrow night at 9:00 PM EST on ABC for the live results show when one celebrity will perform their last dance of the season.

All the judges counted 1 pt off of Mark and Shawn for letting go in the middle of their routine. What about the other couples that let go in the middle of their dance? They sure did not comment on it or get docked.
