Niecy Nash Shows She Can Dance
I must admit that I was worried for Niecy when I heard that she and DWTS partner Louie Van Amstel would be up against the difficult quickstep this week. Last week Niecy and Louie landed alongside Jake and Chelsea in the bottom two, so it was crucial that they nail this week's dance. Nail it they did. Niecy and Louie's quickstep may not have been the best quick step of the season, but all three DWTS judges called it their best dance so far. The couple even received a "9" from one of the judges. Their total score of "25 "was their highest score of the competition, but sadly when added to their team score of 24 from the "cha cha challenge, their total score of 49 was the lowest of the night.
Evan Lysacek Receives Season's First Perfect Score
Evan and Anna proved that last week's low scoring samba was just a tiny "blip" in their stellar dancing record, by dancing a flawless Argentine tango. The skating champion and his DWTS partner received a set of perfect scores from the DWTS judges. DWTS judge, Len Goodman called the performance "fantastic" and awarded his first "10" of the season. The couple's score of 30 combined with their team score of 24 landed them in a tie for first place with reigning Leader board queen, Nicole Scherzinger.
The Team Cha Cha Competition
The six couples were divided into two teams to face off in a samba competition. Team Gaga, which was made up of Pamela & Damian, Chad & Cheryl and Nicole & Derek clearly dominated Team Madonna's Niecy & Louie, Evan & Anna and Erin & Max. Team Gaga's sexy cha cha was great fun to watch and the team received a score of 27 from the judges which was enough for team star, Nicole Scherzinger to hold on to her much deserved first place spot, albeit in a tie with Evan Lysacek.
Team Madonna were certainly not slackers, but their fun and cute performance was just no match for the Team Gaga's set of smoldering cha chas. The judges awarded the team a score of 24, which was enough for Evan Lysacek to hold on to first place, but the lower team score caused team members Erin Andrews and Niecy Nash to fall on the Leader board.
