Dancing with the Stars Night 3: Bye-Bye Ted McGinley

Stephanie Modkins
On night 3 of "Dancing With The Stars", viewers said "bye-bye" to actor Ted McGinley. For anyone who was a big fan of "Married With Children", it was hard to see Marcy's pretty boy husband go. He was such a fun addition to this comedy. However, from the beginning, the writing was on the wall.

In the first show, Ted McGinley was being interviewed about his dance skills and all he could talk about was how he was just a regular guy. He made it pretty clear from the start that dancing was not his forte. Then, when he hit the Dancing With The Stars dance floor, he proved his statement to be right. His moves were mechanically sound at best, but really stiff. It was obvious that he needed a muscle relaxant to help his hipbones swirl and sashay. Or maybe, he just needed to down a few beers. Either way, it was apparent that Ted had a long way to go as a dancer.

On the second night of "Dancing With The Stars", Ted McGinley did much better and it appeared as if he would probably improve over several airings of the show. Yet, alas, his night 2 routine wasn't good enough to save him from elimination. Plus, all of that personality he showed when he starred on "Married with Children" seemed to be invisible. Unlike the other people on the show who aren't dancers (Cloris Leachman, Kim Kardashian), he didn't have any audience appeal. So it's understandable why he got voted off right away.

Well, at least Ted left with style. He mentioned one more time that he was just "one of the guys" (we get it Ted), but had fun on the show. Then, he parted ways with us. It's okay. Ted gave us his best and that's all the viewers ask of anyone who graces the stage of "Dancing With The Stars". We know you are celebrities first - not dancers.

What do you think?
