Dancing with the Stars Results: Guests Sade & NYC Ballet with Film Spoofs & Farewell to a Soap Star

Lots of Lights, Camera, & Action for the Upcoming Movie Week, Sade's Two Songs, Nuttin' but Stringz & the New York City Ballet

Like clockwork the hosts got down to business immediately to relieve the stress for some of the lucky couples who will be returning next week. Those lucky couples were Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke. The couple in the Bottom Two last week, Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower, were also saved. I always enjoy seeing Len Goodman's recaps and the couple confessionals. It gives you a lot more insight. Keep it up Len. As I had suspected I knew it would be Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood getting selected for the encore dance of the week. Like the judges said on Monday night, the Rumba may look like easy, but it's truly a difficult dance. It certainly tripped up one of the other top couples in the competition. Pamela and Damian did another superb Rumba the second time around.

As mentioned on Monday night they will begin theme nights, which is something new for Dancing with the Stars. Next week is the movies. This was the first of several spoofs on a particular film shown as a movie trailer. The first one kind of caught you off guard until you realized what it was. It featured some of the celebrities and dancers. This was a spoof on horror films, more specifically on the "Friday the 13th" sequels. At the end the title was "Tuesday the 13th", the actual date of the results show. It was very cleverly done. Sade was the featured musical guest singing Babyfather, a track from her recent #1 album, Soldier of Love. She looks and sounds as good as she did back in the late '80's and '90's. I'm glad they had her on the Dancing with the Stars results show.

Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, my favorite couple, were told they would be returning. I never take a results show for granted. There was a filler segment featuring the professional dancers for a change. I enjoyed seeing the photos and videos of them as kids. Maksim had me laughing when he said he wasn't good at singing or acting. He was always cast as a mushroom or a tree in school plays. The only thing he was good at was dancing. We were later treated to another spoof film trailer of the Old Hollywood romantic film "ChaChaBlanca" starring Evan Lysacek and Niecy Nash, which was actually Casablanca. That is one of my all-time favorite movies. Another spoof on the Rambo films featured Tony Dovolani. Hie was by far the funniest one of all. Tony was definitely spot on as "Glambo".

Of course Nicole and Derek and the reigning couple of the first hour, Pamela and Damian, were told they were safe from elimination. Finally the moment I was also looking forward to besides Sade was the Macy's Stars of Dance. Tiler Peck, the principal ballerina of the New York City Ballet, along with the other dancers, performed an incredible dance number featuring not only ballet, but hip hop, break dance, and acrobatics. The musical act accompanying the dancers was Nuttin' But Stringz. I vividly remember this violin duo act from "America's Got Talent". They seem to be very successful now. Too bad they did not win that talent show.

Sade returned to perform her #1 hit from 1985 Sweetest Taboo featuring four of her own dancers, instead of the usual pro dancing couples. I thought this was a nice change. Later, Erin and Maks were safe and another spoof film on spy thrillers featured Chad Ochocinco as 005 in "Dance Another Day." Of course it wouldn't be a Bond film without the famous Bond girl, which was Pamela Anderson. Three couples were left at the end of the night. Kate Gosselin was saved by her fan base, no doubt. Niecy and Louis, plus Adien and Edyta, were the bottom two, though not technically this week. The result was Adien Turner would not be returning. He received a standing ovation, something unusual for an early elimination. I'll never forget when he got sick backstage. Now he can truly relax with his family and cute little girl.
