'Dancing With the Stars' Results Preview: Mike Catherwood, Sugar Ray Leonard in Jeopardy?

When the first Dancing with the Stars results show of the new season airs tonight on ABC, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and Loveline's 'Psycho' Mike Catherwood could well find themselves beneath the glow of the infamous red lights. Wonder why? Here's a look.

Both men started off the competition with high-wattage grins a'glowing, but delivered week one dances that left DWTS judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli looking for more. Goodman likened Leonard and Anna Trebunskaya's Foxtrot to "beer and a pizza," and predicted that Catherwood's herky-jerky Cha-Cha-Cha with partner Lacey Schwimmer could lead to "the boulevard of broken dreams" if they failed to deliver during week two.

The men's problems continued last night with their second offerings of season 12. Leonard's lead-off Quickstep, which was illuminated by his bright smile but lacking in "refinement," left Goodman predicting that he'd be "in jeopardy" this week. Catherwood's Jive, although an improvement over his week one dance, still scored too few points to pull him out of the bottom slot on the leaderboard.

But performance quality isn't the sole factor that could land the pair in the bottom two. Name recognition and popularity may well play a hand, too. Catherwood, known primarily for his Loveline work, isn't exactly a household name. Although Leonard is a boxing legend, he's been out of the limelight for a number of years, and may not have the fanbase--like fellow contestant Chelsea Kane's Disney following--to carry him particularly far into the DWTS season 12 competition.

Finally, early returns indicate that the two men may be in danger. Although not extraordinarily accurate at times, DialIdol data places both men near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to phone-in votes, with Leonard in second-to-last place and Catherwood just a spot above.

Tune in to the first Dancing with the Stars results show tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC to see who gets the boot.
