'Dancing With the Stars' Results Show: Musical Guests Selena Gomez, OneRepublic Performed; Bittersweet Goodbye to Wendy Williams
The Encore Dance was Brought Back for Season 12; Kendra, Chris and Wendy Were in the Bottom Three
Encore Dance - Hines Ward's & Kym Johnson's Samba
Finally we got to see the encore dance for the first time this season. Even though the judges loved Petra's and Dmitry's waltz they decided to choose the lively, party atmosphere of the samba by Hines and Kym. Before their performance Tom Bergeron informed the couple they were safe.
It was certainly fun watching them again. Kym did not slip this time, so it was absolutely perfect. The audience waved the Steelers towels, so did the judges. One TV critic mentioned it would have been nice for Kirstie and Maks to have an encore dance, just so they could redeem themselves. Most likely Maks is still resting from his pulled thigh injury.
Results - Those Who Scored 20 Points
Romeo and Sugar Ray Robinson were onstage to learn their fates. It is their destiny they'll be around for another week.
OneRepublic Performed
They were featured twice, but at different times. Their first song was "Good Life" accompanied by the pros Lacey Schwimmer and Dmitry Chaplin. Later on OneRepublic performed "All the Right Moves" featuring the new "Dancing with the Stars" Troupe.
Results - Lowest to Highest Scorers
After being interviewed by Brooke, Wendy Williams and Petra Nemcova awaited their fate. Petra and Dmitry were naturally safe after being tied for the lead. Wendy and Tony were in jeopardy. No doubt with them having the lowest scores.
Selena Gomez and The Scene - Film Crew by the Stars
Named after the famous Tejano singer, Selena, this Disney Channel star performed with her band their latest song, "Who Says." There was a stunning dance performance by Chelsie Hightower and Mark Ballas. The throw at the end with Chelsie curled up in a ball at the landing was amazing!
Tom Bergeron announced the winning song choice for the "Design-A-Dance" for the finale. It is The Go-Go's "We Got the Beat." I wanted my personal favorite "The Twist", but The Go-Go's song was my second choice. Each of the celebrities and their pro partners were filmmakers for a day. My favorite was at the end seeing Ralph's backside covered up by the mirror balls as he went into the bathtub.
Results - 23 Pointers
Chelsea Kane and Kendra Wilkinson were finally informed of their status. Chelsea and Mark will be back while Kendra and Louis are in jeopardy.
Results - 21 Pointers
The last group of the night included Ralph Macchio, Kirstie Alley and Chris Jericho. They were all tied in third place after the performance show Monday. Thankfully my favorites Ralph and Kirstie were safe. That left Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke in jeopardy.
Final Results
Wendy Williams, Kendra Wilkinson and Chris Jericho were the bottom three. Kendra was safe, which left Chris and Wendy under the red lights. Tom stated one couple had the lowest score while the other did not. In the end it was no surprise to see Wendy going home. Tom mentioned she had so much on her plate with flying to New York for her talk show tapings, plus taking care of her family that it left little time for rehearsals. Next week will be Classical Week. Most of the music will feature masterworks by the great composers of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and many others.
