'Dancing With the Stars' Results Show: Jennifer Hudson and Rock Violinist, David Garrett, Performed While Sugar Ray Leonard KO'd
In Honor of Classical Week and "Black Swan" Film Macy's Stars of Dance Presented a Portion of the Famous Ballet
Results - The Highest Scorers
Chelsea Kane, Hines Ward and Ralph Macchio all received the highest scores of the night with 26 for Chelsea and 25 for Hines and Ralph. It was ironic Hines and Ralph who tied with 25 to be safe when Chelsea and her partner, Mark Ballas, were in jeopardy with the highest score.
Encore Dance - Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas
Just a moment ago we found out they were part of the bottom three, then the judges selected Chelsea and Mark for the Encore Dance. Quite frankly it was rather tacky and ill-timed on the producer's part. It was truly a weird moment. Seeing their dance again was entertaining, yet it didn't quite live up to the Classical Week theme.
Patriot's Day with General Len
We haven't seen a filmed comedy sketch this season until now. This was an intro into next week's theme of patriotic American music. Len Goodman was a knock-off of General Patton addressing his troops behind a big American flag. The celebrities were his troops. Gen Len, as he was known, informed them to dance in the traditional manner with no errors. It was a bit over-the-top and lame at times, but it was still fun to watch.
Jennifer Hudson debuting "Don't Look Down"
She debuted on "Dancing with the Stars" her latest single, "Don't Look Down." Louis van Amstel and Karina Smirnoff were the pro dancers onstage. Towards the end there was confetti everywhere. I was afraid it would get into her mouth while she was singing.
Results - Middle Scorers
This included Romeo, Petra Nemcova and Chris Jericho. They all scored 23. To my chagrin it was the former leader, Petra, who was in jeopardy.
Macy's Stars of Dance - "Swan Lake"
What a beautiful tribute to the Classical Week theme and to the popular film "Black Swan." It was by far my favorite performance ever on the Macy's Stars of Dance line-up. Three principal dancers from various ballet companies performed a portion of the timeless "Swan Lake." It featured the black swan. The music was truly captivating. This is the quintessential ballet of all ballets.
Jennifer Hudson Encore
You've heard her sing a little bit of the song "Feeling Good" on her Weight Watchers commercials. Now she performed it live for her encore number. This was another great performance from JHud.
Results - Lowest Scorers
Those with the lowest scores included Kirstie Alley (22), Sugar Ray Leonard (21) and Kendra Wilkinson (18). When they showed recaps of Kendra's Monday night performance she got quite a negative edit. However, Kirstie and Kendra was safe, which left Sugar Ray in jeopardy.
Final Results
Chelsea and Mark, Perta and Dmitry and Sugar Ray and Anna were the bottom three, though not necessarily with the lowest scores. The one with the overall lowest score was Sugar Ray Leonard. I was truly disappointed he was going home. Brooke informed him he should be proud to be leaving on a high note by getting his highest score ever. Next week on the theme of Patriot's Day the musical guest will be country music star, Toby Keith.
