Dancing with the Stars Rigged? Fans Speak Out After Kate Gosselin Survives April 13th Vote
Once we saw her dance, many were certain she would be sent home right away. During Kate's very first performance, Bruno commented that "it looked like Tony was pushing a shopping cart" and it didn't get much better in her second and third week. To top it all off, her partner Tony wanted to QUIT! Tony actually walked out on Kate in the second week stating "I quit!" because she was treating him badly and questioning his teaching methods.
Since many fans love the shows pro dancers, it was almost expected that they would send Kate home just because of her mean attitude towards Tony. Dancing with the Stars is supposed to be fun, but with Kate around it is full of DRAMA. Even so, she stayed! Kate beat out Shannen Doherty and Buzz Aldrin in the last two weeks.
Now in the fourth week of competition, Kate's dance was minutely better than the previous three weeks, but that didn't stop her from getting the lowest score of the night. Last night, fans on twitter overwhelmingly begged others to vote for ANYONE but Kate! A Facebook group formed called "Vote Kate Gosselin OFF of Dancing With the Stars!" With all this negative support, it seemed inevitable that Kate would go home tonight.
As I watched tonights show, I also followed the Fans reactions on Twitter. What did the Fans have to say about Kate as the show went on?
"Please let Kate Gosselin go home tonight. Is that so hard to ask?" is what one fan said as the show started. Jake and Chad were declared safe at this point leaving us wondering if Kate would finally be in the bottom 2 tonight. Twitter user 7up23 said "com'on since Jake was saved the only person who deserves elimination is Katezilla!" Yes the fans have given Kate all sorts of nicknames!
MariaV followed up with "I think if Kate isn't voted off tonight I will lose all faith in humanity". It's halfway through the show and so far I've only encountered very few people actually cheering FOR Kate instead of against her. Fans were starting to get worried after the halfway point of the show. As WhiskeygirlM said "I have a bad feeling that Aiden's going home tonight & not Kate...not happy". Nicole and Pamela were both told they were safe meaning Aiden very well could be in the bottom two.
With 13 minutes to go, Brooke interviewed Kate who said she had "total and complete fun" and then "I'm gonna cry if it's over". This left AmyR86 saying "Kate Gosselin, you're an idiot, go home" and another fan saying "Kate go home!!! concentrate on your babies rather than trying to gain sympathy for your divorce...not buying it!". Erin was declared safe next, leaving Aiden and Niecy in the bottom three along with Kate.
Only minute left in the show, FallenStar1 said "Kate better go home tonight!!! Tony needs to be put out of his misery already." Even so, many fans feared Aiden would be sent home instead. So it was almost no surprise when Kate and Tony were declared safe! Instantly Twitter lit up with multiple users screaming "NOOOOOOO!!" The tweets started flying in with people asking "Ok, Who keeps voting for Kate!"
Aiden was sent home tonight on Dancing with the Stars, and even though the fans guessed it, it doesn't mean they like it! sdub215 said it best with "Who the heck is voting for her?!?!?!? STOP VOTING FOR "KATE plus NO ENTERTAINMENT VALUE"!!! She dances like she's a wooden robot.*GAG*"

MsIsobel: "My TV screen actually froze while Kate was being called safe. I think it was disgusted"
brokesocialite: "Dear America: "Plus 8" needs their mama back. Please stop voting for Kate. She is ridiculous and y'all know it."
themrsroyal: "What the hell. If you are voting 4 Kate on #DWTS beware: I will come to your house & cut your phone lines & possibly you. She. Can't. Dance."
Jessica_Bruno: "dwts is fixing it for the ratings. Nobody watch. Don't give them ratings they want!"
wiccachick_1: "Okay, seriously is there a secret Sanjaya conspiracy thing going on with Kate's votes? Because if there is then STOP!"
So what do you think? Is Dancing with the Stars rigged? This drama certainly brings in the viewers, but it also leaves many people claiming they will boycott the show. Will you still watch the show if Kate is on?

Post a CommentThanks :) I don't believe reality shows are rigged but I followed twitter that whole season and so many people really thought the producers set it all up for DRAMA! I got such a laugh out of what people were saying :) People are creative when they are mad. But yes, I have heard she has fans... I just wonder who these women are and why they think she deserves their love! Thanks for reading!!
Ha - enjoyed reading this, as a fellow colleague who has way too much Kate :) My thought is that she probably did get the votes to keep her on that long - I went to a speaking engagement she did, and there were hundreds of women there, most of whom seemed to just idolize her.
Yeah many say it was rigged and a lot of people truly believe she couldn't have had that many votes. However, I have heard of people who "vote for the worst" just to keep them on.
I think she is so disliked and such an awful dancer that the producers figured it actually made the show more interesting when there was someone like that on. I'm glad she's gone.
I haven't really figured out what the appeal is with Kate. . .
Well I'd love to just NOT watch, but every week as the episode approaches I really want to see all of the others. But next week I might just Fast Forward right past Kate. The trouble is, they show Kate clips throughout the whole show b/c she brings the drama. They also always have Kate dance near the end of the show which seems like a set up for sure.
i have not watched once...and will not until kate goes home. she is a fame and money whore, in addition to being a miserable humam being. GO HOME KATE!
Yeah I reallllly want to boycott b/c I hate Kate, but at the same time I really like everyone who is left! SO I gotta keep watching and placing my 18 votes (web, phone, cell) for someone besides Kate! Thanks for reading :)
