'Dancing with the Stars' Rock and Roll Week: Bristol Palin Has Technique and Personality!

Jacqueline Winslow
The show began with the Top 10 Dances on Dancing with the Stars. The beauty of this was that we all have our favorite dances from past performances. It took us back to previous shows that we loved and wanted to see again. These Top 10 DWTS dances were as good as last night's show!

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 26/30 plus 10/10 in the dance marathon = 36 out of possible 40 Brandy continues to surprise me with her beauty, her dancing, and her personality. I didn't get Maks' pants with thigh bracelets (quite puzzling). Either way, it was a wonderful tango! The judges loved her, as I know the DWTS voters will!

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani: 24/30 + 8/10 = 32/40 Tony seemed to think that Bruno picked on Audrina because she was thinking too much. Was that the reason, or is she just struggling to bring personality to the dances? She danced all the moves but something was missing. Of course, I'm no expert on Latin dances, but obviously the judges agreed, as they were also frustrated by her performance.

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke: 24/30 + 6/10 = 30/40 The judges and I disagreed on this dance. They seemed to think he was like a "Mohican on a warpath!" Ahem. I didn't get that. I thought he was stiff, but maybe that's what he was supposed to look like. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke. They are in my top favorites. This just wasn't a dance I liked. Sorry, Rick!

By the way, did everyone notice Martha Stewart sitting in the audience?

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer: 23/30 + 7/10 = 30/40 To start, Lacey's costume was bordering crazy with it's garter belts. I thought Kyle came out to really get good scores because he danced like he had technique instead of going for the personality votes. The judges couldn't help but admire his hard work, as I'm sure the DWTS voters will as well. When you dance well, dances like Kyle's translate to great dancing. Great tango!

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough: 20/30 + 9/10 = 29/40 I was nervous about this performance after last week's obvious relationship issues for Jennifer and Derek. After seeing the video from their practices, I finally had hope. Sorry Jennifer, her dance last night was terrible. Carrie Ann was right. The dance was out of control. Even a newbie like me could see it. Their paso doble didn't even look like a paso doble. Regardless, I think her fans will pull her out of this obvious slump!

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas: 23/30 + 5/10 = 28/40 Surprise, surprise .... Bristol can dance! This was Bristol's best dance on DWTS! She added charisma as she danced on the air guitar halfway through the dance ... it was worth it because we saw Bristol come out and shine. Her technique was flawless and she showed us that when she puts her mind to it, she can do it! Way to go Bristol on the tango!

Kurt Warner and Anna Tre-BUN-skaya: 18/30 + 4/10 = 22/30 Sadly, the judges got it wrong again. Kurt danced great but the judges didn't seem to think so. They thought he looked awkward...sad, as I though it looked amazing!

All in all, another great night on Dancing with the Stars!
