Dancing with the Stars Season 10 April 19, 2010: Nicole Scherzinger Tangos Back on Top and Kate Gosselin Keeps Her Spot on the Bottom

Joyce Carole
This week Nicole and Derek tango back on top of the Dancing with the Stars leader board was a nearly flawless performance. Kate Gosselin proves that last week's "mini breakthrough" was short lived with her lackluster fox trot. Read on for details on the night's dancing.

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel
Score: 6+6+6 = 18

Niecy and Louis are the first couple to hit the Dancing with the Stars stage with a wild and wacky jive to La Bamba, which ends with Niecy planting a big one on Len's forehead. Len gives Niecy credit for personality and "bouncing bazookas". Bruno Tonioli praises Niecy's jiggly parts, but critiques her footwork.

Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke
Score: 6+6+6 = 18

Chad and Cheryl hit the dance floor with a fast and fun quick step to the classic Disney hit, Bare Necessities. Bruno Tivoli said that the dance "fell to pieces". Carrie Ann faults them for their lack of contact and uneven performance. Len tells the couple that they did a "pretty good job".

Erin Andrews and Maxsim Chmerkovsky
Score: 7+7+8 = 22

Erin and Max performed a theatrical jive this week with a Pulp Fiction theme. Before I write the judge's comments, I am just going to say I loved Erin and Max's jive. Len said it was a tough routine, but he enjoyed it. Carrie Ann faulted Erin on her ankles. Bruno told Erin that she "got that Uma magic". Brooke asked the charismatic couple straight out whether there was love in the air. Erin flippantly answered back, "Not until she has a ring like the one Chad put on Cheryl's finger".

Jake Pavelka and Chelsea Hightower
Score: 8+7+8= 23

Jake Pavelka stripped down to his underwear to rehash Tom Cruise's Risky Business dance. The judges loved Jake and Chelsea's Cha cha and gave the DWTS couple high marks for the combination of guts and good dancing. Len said their dance was great fun. Max said it was one "cheeky performance". Carrie Ann gave Jake accolades for his guts. I have to say I found Jake's performance more than a little misogynistic.

Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood
Score: 7+6+8 = 21

Pam and Damian did the Quick Step to Dolly Parton's Nine to Five. It was going to take a lot to impress the judges after last week's sultry rumba. Pamela and Damian didn't disappoint. Pamela Anderson is in my opinion succeeding where Kate Gosselin dismally fails. She is winning over those who were not big fans of hers (like me); she is really fun to watch and an admirably good dancer. Bruno praised her characterization and good dancing, while Len (the Grinch) critiqued the couples for using way too many props.

Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani
Score: 5+5+5 = 15

Kate and Tony performed the Fox trot to a hit from the movie, Breakfast Club. Last week the judges gave Kate credit for a "mini breakthrough". They were not as kind this week. Carrie Ann used the "Charlie Brown wah wah sound" to describe the dancing. Len gave them credit for a degree of grace. Bruno was quite unkind and the gist of his critique was that Kate took a giant step backwards. Kate continues to demonstrate her class by blaming her lack of energy on her eight kids. The Gosselin gang apparently visited the Dancing with the Stars set this week sucking up their poor dancing mom's energy. I apologize for getting snide, but this woman is really too much.

Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough
Score: 10+9+10 = 29

Nicole and Derek performed a Tango to a song from one of my favorite movies, Pretty Woman. Nicole and Derek tangoed their way back to the top with an almost flawless performance. Len called the performance "the best dance of the performance". Bruno screamed that the couple performed the "tango to perfection". Carrie Ann called their dance a work of art.

Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya
Score: 9+9+9 = 27

Evan and Anna performed the rumba this week. The last two weeks the couple topped the DWTS leader board. This week they fell short to Nicole and Derek's superb performance. The couple gave an excellent performance, just not as good as Nicole and Derek. Bruno praised Evan's superb dancing skills. Carrie Ann said that the movement was beautiful. Len gave the couple accolades for artistry, lyricism and hip action.

It is difficult to say which couple will be voted off this week. If we go strictly with dancing talent Kate Gosselin should be gone, but we all know that dancing talent is not everything especially when it comes to Kate Gosselin. My bet is that it will be Jake, even though he received a pretty good score from the judges, or Niecy who are sent home. Though I can't help but hope that it is Kate.
