Who's Left?
Chad Ochocinco was eliminated last week leaving 2 girls and 1 guy left in the finale. Here are how their scores were last week, but anything can happen in the Finale week!
- Nicole Scherzinger with Derek Hough - 59/60
- Evan Lysacek with Anna Trebunskaya - 59/60
- Erin Andrews with Maksim Chmerkovskiy - 56/60
Now on with the Show!
Erin and Maksim kicked off the dancing right of the bat. No time for filler tonight! Bruno came to their rehearsal to give Erin some tips and encouragement. Dancing the Samba, Erin looked full of confidence in her face but not always 100% in her movement. Overall it looked like she was having fun and hitting the steps as the pair ended while kissing Glen on the check. Len was happy Maksim didn't take any clothes off and thought Erin improved a lot since her last Samba. Bruno "couldn't believe the results!" Carrie Ann said Erin was fantastic. Scores: CA - 10, L - 10, B - 9, Total: 29/30.
Evan and Anna danced the Vienesse Waltz after some tips from Len about chemistry. Evan looked like he was trying to take Len's comments to heart as he kept eye contact and smooth movements with Anna during their dance. Good dance - smooth with no noticeable errors. Bruno said he "could feel the sparks" saying they were more emotional. Carrie Ann said it was "a beautiful, emotional, endless enchanting dream!" Len thought it was wonderful with only one minor comment. Scores: CA - 10, L - 9, B - 9, Total: 28/30.
Nicole and Derek got advice from Carrie Ann who tried to teach Nicole to let go of her inhibitions in their Rumba. Nicole started off with a lot of technical moves and really didn't look like she was letting go like Carrie Ann wanted. I think she's still all about hitting the moves just perfectly rather than feeling it. Carrie Ann did think Nicole was mesmerizing so maybe I just didn't see it, but of course Carrie Ann was mad about the lift at the end. Len thought there was a little lack of confidence (I agree!!). Bruno thought it was super (or some other weird word). Scores: CA - 9, L - 9, B - 10, Total: 28/30.
- The Freestyle Round -
Erin and Maksim designed an emotional freestyle with lots of lifts using choreographer Mandy Moore for assistance. It looked more like something you would see on So You Think You Can Dance then Dancing with the Stars. But that's ok with me b/c I love SYTYCD! It was a very lyrical / contemporary dance involving a lot of flailing around on a bed. I thought they were on the bed way too much as opposed to dancing though. Len said it was partially pulled off calling it "a mix between emotion and commotion". Bruno said she did some of the steps incredibly. Carrie Ann thought it was the perfect choice for Erin. Scores: CA - 9, L - 8, B - 9, Total: 26/30, Overall: 55/60.
Evan and Anna had some disagreements about what type of freestyle dancing they should do since she wanted to do a cheeky dance and he didn't think it would be strong enough. So they had someone come in to help design their routine. Evan and Anna's freestyle looked to be in the theme of a 50s dance with a little more fun. They were definitely more ballroom than Erin and Maksim were, and still lots of tricks. Bruno said Evan lost a little bit of precision but he did go for it. Carrie Ann thought it was "odd" but had great energy. Len didn't think either of them really wanted to do that type of freestyle and he could tell. Scores: CA - 8, L - 8, B - 8, Total: 24/30, Overall: 52/60.
Nicole and Derek had it wide open after Evan's low scores. Derek was looking to do a non-stop fast hip-hop filled dance with lifts that even made Derek nervous. The pair came out in matching shiny business suits and got right to moving all about the floor. The outfits seemed a little weird to me because they didn't show off the moves as much as some more colorful outfits do. Eventually they stripped down to yellow outfits and ended with what looked like an awkward lift. Carrie Ann said it was fantastic but noted the slip on the last lift. Len saw all the different ballroom dances thrown in and thought it was fantastic as well. Bruno thought it was dazzling. Scores: CA - 9, L - 9, B - 9, Total: 27/30, Overall: 55/60.
All three couples will dance again during tomorrow's finale so it could still go any way! Make sure to vote!

Post a CommentNicole deserved to win... but I still kind of feel that as a professional stage performer/singer/dancer already, it wasn't all that 'fair' to begin with. But she was great and fun to watch!
I voted for Evan :) But cannot wait for this season to end. NOt looking forward to seeing Kate tomorrow so I'm actually going to watch The Biggest Loser instead :)
Is it bad that I am glad the season is almost over? Not really sure who I want to win at this point either.
