'Dancing with the Stars', Season 11, 2010, Week 11 Finale: Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough Are Champions!

Bristol Palin Comes in Third, Kyle Massey in the Middle

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough were named champions of Season 11 of 'Dancing With the Stars', Tuesday night, meaning TV sets across the nation should be safe from shotgun blasts of angry viewers. Last week, sixty-seven year old Steven Cowan, upset that Bristol was still on the show, became angry and shot his TV.

Near the close of the two-hour finale tonight, Bristol and dance partner Mark Ballas learned they were in third place. Bristol said DWTS had been a life-changing experience. "I've had the time of my life," she said. "I'm going to take away a newfound confidence."

Kyle, who was the most entertaining and fun to watch, was quick to congratulate Jennifer and Derek when he learned his fate. He appeared to be more concerned about dance partner, Lacey Schwimmer than himself. Lacey returned the favor, saying, "He's a winner in my eyes."

Jennifer, who has dealt with injuries all season long, wasn't even sure she'd be able to dance tonight, but dance she did, winning the coveted mirror ball. Jennifer finished with the highest score, reaching 118 by show's end. Bristol and Mark's scores were the lowest at 104.

All dancers received good reviews tonight, with Judge Bruno Tonioli telling Kyle he was a "stage animal" and Carrie Ann Inaba calling him "a breath of fresh air" after his Tango. Carrie Ann told Bristol she had been consistently surprised by her performances. "There was a new command," she said of Bristol's Tango.

Len Goodman called Jennifer "the complete package," Bruno said her waltz was "blissfully beautiful" and Carrie Ann said the "magic was there."

So that's it for Season 11. Can Season 12 be any more controversial? I'll be tuning in to find out.
