Bristol Palin on "Dancing with the Stars"

Teen mom and the daughter of former Gov. Sarah Palin, Bristol Palin took the chance to redeem herself for last week's low-scoring dance to the theme of "The Monkees." During rehearsals, Palin had stated she intended to use her week 6 Tango to "Prove I have both the personality and technique," and to prove her point, she asked partner Mark Ballas to insert an air guitar solo into their rock Tango. Her strategy paid off as Bristol Palin earned her best scores of the season as well as praise from the judges.

Palin commented during the show that she started the competition with hardly any confidence adding, "Now I am having such a good time."

"Dancing with the Stars" Judges on Bristol Palin

Bruno Tonioli called the Tango Palin's best performance and best technique to date.
Carrie Ann Inaba
said, "It was ridiculously amazing!"
Len Goodman stated, "Last week a chimp; this week almost a champ." Palin received 8s from Inaba and Tonioli and a 7 from Goodman for a total score of 23.

Kurt Warner on "Dancing with the Stars"

With his "good guy" personality, Kurt Warner had some trouble getting into character as a rocker, so TV personality and former Poison lead vocalist Bret Michaels was brought in to coach Warner in the mysteries of being a rocker. However, his efforts did not pay off as he scored only an 18.

Warner said he originally thought getting into character for each dance would be his biggest challenge, but said after his Paso Doble he has really enjoyed playing the role for each dance. He added, "You never want to be at the bottom," and said he planned to keep working.

"Dancing with the Stars" Judges on Kurt Warner

Carrie Ann Inaba commented that his Paso Doble "Didn't have a lot of polish."
Len Goodman said, "I could see what you were trying to do, but it didn't come off."
Bruno Tonioli thought the dance looked more like Karate and less like a Spanish dance.

All three judges gave Warner a 6 for a total score of 18.

"Dancing with the Stars" Dance Marathon

At the end of the show the remaining 7 couples participated in a Dance Marathon where each couple was knocked out of competition one at a time by the judges. Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya were the first couple asked to leaved, followed by Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas. Warner only earned 4 additional points for a combined total of 22, and Palin scored 5 points, bringing her total to 28.
