'Dancing with the Stars,' Season 11, Week 6, 2010 Results Show: Audrina Patridge Voted Off

America, What Were You Thinking? Part II

Audrina Patridge was voted off 'Dancing With the Stars' Tuesday night, a move that stunned Judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. Audrina and dance partner Tony Dovolani awaited their fate alongside Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, who were also in jeopardy.

"I'm almost lost for words," said Len, moments before the announcement was made. "We like the underdog, but we like justice more, and there is no justice with these two being in jeopardy."

Looking back on perfomances by Bristol Palin, Kurt Warner and Kyle Massey, it's no wonder the judges are incredulous that Audrina and Jennifer, two of the best dancers, wound up in jeopardy.

"I can't believe it," Bruno said of Audrina. "She is great." During the first show of the season, Bruno told Audrina, "You look like a beautiful show pony that needs to be whipped into shape and pushed to the limit, my darling." Well, neither the judges nor the audience will see any thing more from Audrina because the viwers have spoken.

Like most eliminated dancers, Audrina left with grace, saying she wasn't sure how she felt about leaving the show. "I don't even know, I just know I've had so much fun," she said. "Tony has been great. I tried to give it more character--I guess I couldn't tap into that right now," she said in reference to recent critque from the judges.

Early on during the night's episode, we learned that Bristol, Kurt and Kyle were safe, and of course, we didn't hear about Brandy and Maks until the show was dwindling down.

Now six couples are left, and I predict either Bristol, Kurt and Kyle will be voted off next week, which should have already happened.

DWTS's is about who can learn to dance the best with the pro's, not a popularity contest. You just know who alot of Alaskans are voting for whether she can dance or not. The show is about dancing and not a Tea Party. I think they need a different way of voting.

I think it's time that DWTS re-evaluates the overall scoring system. Obviously, the judges are professionals and, although I am sometimes surprised by their remarks and scores, they ARE the pros and understand the whole process better than I do. However, there have simply been too many times that the apparent viewer vote is way too uninformed and skewed. On too many occasions, good dancers have been eliminated and poor couples, who seem to have a higher popularity base, are kept around when they should have been "sent packing". Perhaps the viewer participation should be reduced and the judges' socring given more weight. Last night's travesty in the elimination of Audrina is yet another prime example. For some of us, the current system is a real "turn off" and leads us to believe the whole series is just a popularity contest and not an exhibition of talent. Please give it some thought. Thank you.

What a big disappointment, this season of dancing with the stars is a big joke. Somehow we let politic set the rules, shame on you DWTS.

I have watched every season of DWTS, do not care to EVER watch it again. Last nights voting Audrina off was absolutely uncalled for.She is a very awesome dancer and should by all means still be competing.

The show has become a joke. It's not about the dancing anymore. It's a"popularity" contest or quite possibly politically incorrect ???
Sadly I have given up watching it.
