"Dancing With the Stars" Snack Ideas: Snacks that Match the Dances on "DWTS"

Some like it Hot!

Is watching "Dancing with the Stars" a family tradition at your house? Or instead, do you get together with friends, and everyone phones in for their favorite couple? There's no doubt about it, "DWTS" creates a lot of excitement, and though some of the contestants may be unfamiliar at first, by the final night a cheer is raised across the country for the couple who wins the "DWTS" trophy.

One way to add more fun to watching the show is to gear snacks to the different dance styles on "DWTS." After all, if you're going to watch "DWTS" with friends or family, you might as well make a party out of it!

Waltz: The "DWTS" couples always seem to float over the floor while waltzing, looking like angels. So, what better snack to have than angel food cake? Serve it with fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream for a heavenly treat that matches the "DWTS" couples. If you're in a hurry, check the grocery store bakery for the cake and buy frozen strawberries. Just don't skimp on the homemade whipped cream, though, because it's what makes the dessert as classy as the "DWTS" couples waltzing around the floor.

Rumba or Samba: For the hot, Latin dances, consider hot, spicy foods. Traditional nachos, spicy bean dips and tortilla chips, or hot chili dip with scoopers are great while watching "DWTS." Just remember to have at least one dish that's a little milder for those who can't tolerate the heat.

Tango or Paso Doble: On "DWTS," these numbers are so hot they're in a league of their own. If the waltz requires angel food cake, then these two definitely call for devil's food. Bake chocolate cupcakes or a layered cake, and add swirls of cream cheese frosting that's been colored with red food coloring.

Quickstep and Jive: Anyone who's watched "DWTS" for more than one season knows these dances require a multitude of hops, skips and jumps. And what goes well with that? Why, popcorn, of course! Don't settle for just the normal ol' popped and buttered corn. Different flavors might include cheese, coconut, chocolate drizzled, lemon, caramel, or anything else that sounds appealing.

The popularity of "DWTS" has continued for twelve seasons. Whether you watch "DWTS" with friends or family, beef up your own popularity by serving snacks geared around the dances.
