Dancing with the Stars: Tyce Diorio

The Tyce You Don't See!

DrD
The latest dance fad or craze, "Dancing with the Stars," has gained a tremendous fan base fast. Since the show first aired two years prior to 2006, ("As expected, ABC has announced that the third edition of Dancing with the Stars, the smash-hit reality ballroom dancing competition that aired its first two editions as summer and midseason programming, will air as part of the network's 2006-2007 fall programming lineup.") it has grown, and grown, and grown in popularity. This means ad money for ABC, but it also indicates viewer trend, dancing is regaining popularity, and nowhere is that more obvious than in the name recognition of the choreographer to the stars, Tyce Diorio. But don't be concerned if you don't recognize his name, you might be one of those people who aren't watchers of the dancers? If, however, you watch that show, then this article will appeal to you even more, we're here to get into all things Tyce.

It might seem odd, but right now in America we are hearing a lot about hard economic times, and, during hard economic times in our past, dancing had gained popularity- maybe it's because people like something light and laughable when times are tough? This gain was cumulative for those to whom it befell: "In their heyday, dance marathons were among America's most widely attended and controversial forms of live entertainment. The business employed an estimated 20,000 people as promoters, masters of ceremonies, floor judges, trainers, nurses and contestants" (Martin, p. xvi).

So we come to this man who is now on the verge of mega fame, Tyce Diorio, and we also now see a phenomenon where he is tied in, Dancing with the Stars. Tyce would be a sort of behind the scenes individual here, he is the choreographer to have; so his popularity is growing, but also, Tyce has a reputation as a good person in the realm. According to one source, Mia Michaels, a fellow choreographer, Tyce is a very fine gentlemen and easy to work with. These are the sorts of things that you want people who you are competitive with to say about you. Tyce is a winner in so many ways.

When it comes down to it, who better to head up the behind the scenes work of a social device which has historical roots, like Dancing with the Stars, than someone who people like? The best representative for the show, someone who isn't in love with the camera lights, but someone who does the work, but is respected. That's the best sort of person to have working with you. Mia, bye the way, is working on another show, "So You Think You Can Dance?" which is a competing market share show, and says kind things toward Tyce which would really be a weighty way to go, thanks to Mia for the information.

We conclude our brief tour about the ageless appeal of dancing, and the people who work within it, and this one particular star, who works behind the scenes, by saying that it is a pleasure to see someone who is not only appealing, but handles their sense of self with the class and gentle grace that everyone can appreciate.

  • Tyce is a star choreographer without a star"ish" attitude.
  • Even those who compete against Tyce appreciate his manners.
  • The great depression crazes, are they coming back?
This dance show is very similar to shows that were going on during the great depression which naturally brings up the question, hmm, are we there again?
