'Dancing with the Stars': Was Bruno Doing His Job?

Michael Bolton Gets a 3

Michael Bolton danced badly on Dancing with the Stars and got a 3 from Bruno! Does he deserve an apology?

Seeing a celebrity getting bad scores isn't a first on DWTS. There have been amazing dances, and then there have been really terrible dances. Somehow the judges are left in the middle, trying to give honest opinions. We can all admit, sometimes they say more than they should, but isn't that just human?

This is what we love about DWTS. We love the good and the bad because we get to vote on who we love the most. The dancers who get the least amount of votes, well, they go home. That is how this competition works. Hopefully, the celebrities leave the show with grace and dignity.

That philosophy can't be said about Michael Bolton, who, according to Yahoo TV Blog, has demanded an apology from Bruno. Rightfully so, Bruno will not be giving an apology, according to producers. Bruno was doing his job, which is to give his honest opinion.

For some reason, there is this trend with high-profile celebrities that they want things their way. They want the dancers to teach them the dances, but only doing it their way. We've seen this before with these demanding celebrities. This season, we have Brandy, who had no trouble in throwing Max under the bus when the judges spoke out about their dance. My prediction is that she either gets over herself and listens to Max, or she becomes another high-maintenance celebrity on DWTS.

Back to Michael Bolton: Can we all agree he didn't dance great? Did he deserve the 3 that Bruno gave him? I'm not so sure. Again, the judges have to judge in that moment. Did Bruno overreact about how badly Bolton danced? He could have, yes! Bruno is the judge, and Bolton is the one needing to dance better.

For some reason, Bolton seemed to think he deserved an apology. I could understand his being upset that he didn't dance well or get good scores. When a celebrity starts demanding apologies from the DWTS judges, though, I place him in the high-maintenance category. His time on DWTS was justified to be short-lived.

Dancing with the Stars fans want celebrities who want to be out there on the floor dancing. We want celebrities and dancers to dance their hearts out and actually listen to the judges' critiques. Does that mean they take the judges' wisdom every time? No, but they also don't ask for apologies from Bruno either.

At the end of the day, Bolton just gave himself a bad reputation; a cry baby. Do you think Michael Bolton deserved an apology?
