Dancing with the Stars - Week Two

Dee Mac
Week Two on Dancing with the Stars had contestants stepping up their game with either the Jive or the Quickstep as they struggled through the process of elimination.

Judge Len said Mike and Lacey's performance was better than last week. Unfortunately, it didn't help because Loverboy's stiff body and pointy feet moved with very little rhythm. Judge Len said he was flying around like a wasp at a picnic. Judge Carrie Ann said his kicks were good, but his feet should be a little less turned in. They received a score of 17, giving them a total 30 out of 60. Sadly, they were the first contestants to be eliminated.

How you doinggggg? Wendy and Tony set out to make a comeback dancing the Jive . Wendy said "I don't know what more could anybody would want from me, I thought we should have scored all 10s across the board?" ... hmmmm..... I'm wondering if she actually thought to rewind the show and watch herself. Once again, she still moved as though her legs were filled with cement, but this time she added a tad bit more foot work. Does she actually think she can slide her way into the finals? Drop the self-absorbed personality Wendy. Stop belching and lift those legs and move those hips! Stop letting Kristie Alley dance circles around you! They earned a total of 17, giving them a total 31, and landing them in 10th place.

Sugar Ray and Anna was in it to win it doing the Jive, but Sugar didn't quite step up his technique. I'm rooting for Sugar, but I think his disco moves are going to lead him straight to elimination. Judge Carrie Ann said "by watching your face, your performance was a 10, but you need more precision in your footwork." Judge Len believes Sugar Ray is in jeopardy. For now he is safe! He matched his score the first week with 17, giving him a total 34.

When Petra and Dmitry performed the Jive, Petra's legs and feet were moving 10 times faster then the music. Judge Len said it's a fatal combination, short skirt, long legs, and bad technique, but she did it beautifully. They scored 18, giving them a total of 36.

Kendra and Louis impressed the audience with the Quickstep. Kendra showed great improvement performing graceful, elegant, and flowing dance moves. She totally gravitated to her partner. Judge Len said occasionally her chesticles were pushing into Louie. They landed a score of 19, giving them a total of 37.

Chelsea and Mark came out dressed like clown's and dancing like Mime's. Judge Carrie Ann said "I love choreography like that, but...there's a time and a place for that, and it is not right now." They scored 18, giving them a total of 39.

Romeo and Chelsie totally complimented one another doing the Quickstep. Romeo was poised and light on his feet. Judge Len said "that was the best dance of the night!" Romeo is the one to watch! They landed a much improved score of 23, giving him a total of 43 points.

Chris and Cheryl hoped to move up the board with the Quickstep. This gorgeous hunk is hot! He's a complete gentleman with an incredibly smooth and charming style on the dance floor. Judge Bruno told Cheryl she turned Chris from a beast into a gazelle. They scored a moving 23, giving them a total of 43.

Kirstie and Maks rocked the house with the Quickstep. Judge Carrie Ann believes the connection between the two is going to be unstoppable! Kirstie stepped with rhythm, precision, and class. On the flip side, I believe "the big kiss" may have cost them a few points. They scored a total of 20, giving them a total of 43 points!

Hines and Kym tackled the Quickstep. I'm a Sugar Ray fan but Hines has demonstrated more control and technique than Sugar Ray. He even made a comment about his "nice bummer" which tells me he adores it just as much as Judge Len and the audience. Judge Carrie Ann said Hines is the "twinkle toes" of Season 12. They landed a score of 23, giving them a total of 44!

Ralph and Karina brought energy and excitement to the audience as they danced the Jive. Ralph performed like nobody's business! Judge Len said he attacked the dance too much and it got a little bit frenzy here and there.
On the contrary, they were safe and earned a score of 21, giving them a total of 45 and putting them in 1st place!

After two weeks of dancing, the top three teams are:

Ralph & Karina (45/60 points)
Hines & Kym (44/60 points)
Kirstie & Maks (43/60 points

Tune in on Mondays nights on ABC. Who will make it to the finals? More importantly, who will win the Mirrorball Trophy! I welcome your comments and thoughts.

I stopped watching that show a while ago, but your reporting of it made me tune in.
