Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme

Setup
There has to be a designated group of judges. If you have children, this may be a good idea to get them to score each performance. However, children can be a part of this idea as well. If you apply this theme to include both adults and children, the judges can be those who may not want to participate. Also, children should be judged separately in their own categories. Using this setup for a Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme, there may end up being one judge. The duty should be given to a man or woman who is hosting this New Years Eve Party.

There should be a specific number of rounds planned for this dancing competition. One couple is to be eliminated at the end of each round. You can set this up any way that is fitting for your New Years Eve Party. All rounds can take place at once or you can split them up to occur in between other planned activities for the evening. The competition should eventually come down to one couple that wins. Make sure that the proper music is in place and that there is a designated stage or dancing area for all performances.

Invitations
RSVP is a must to make this Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme work. Make sure that that an RSVP requirement is mentioned on the invitations. It will help to know how many couples will be arriving while you prepare the scoring rules and accompanying documents. To spice up your New Years Eve Party, you can also pair your guests up instead of giving them control over that aspect of this Dancing with the Stars theme. Invitations can be purchased or created at home.

The choice will depend on how elaborate your New Years Eve Party will be and your spending budget. No matter which choice is made, the invitations should represent elegance in a simplistic form but also have some sparkle to them. This can be done by adding glitter or sending invitations made of shiny material and star colors like gold or metallic hues. Since dancing is a part of this New Years Eve Party theme, you could get away with using invitations made for ballet recitals or other performance art events. It is important to make sure that you invite an even number of couples or guests to pair up with each other.

Dress Code
This can be one of the most exciting aspect of your Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme. Require that all guests dress the part for their performances. However, they can have the option to change outfits after the competition if they desire to wear something else during their remaining time at your New Years Eve party. More than likely, your guests will decide to stay in the same outfit all night long. A dress code may influence your guests to pull out all the stops and make sure that they look amazing at your New Years Eve party. This will make for some of the best photos of you and your friends or family members.

Decorations
Lots of lights are essential for a Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme. Most of them should be near the dance floor or dance area to make it the central focus of your New Years Eve Party. Standard party spotlights can be used for the main lighting. You can also add a few colors to the lighting to enhance the appearance of all performances. These lights can be purchased or rented from party supply stores or retail shops that sell DJ equipment. It may be best to rent or borrow them so that you do not waste money on items that may be used only once. However, if you purchased them outright, they could always be sold on eBay or at a flea market later on.

Food and Beverages
Messy foods are not appropriate for this New Years Eve Party Theme. The Dancing with the Stars TV show is glamorous and fun. Items like barbeque ribs, fried greasy wings and certain seafood entrees may get in the way of your exciting New Years Eve Party. Seafood smells and you do not want to stink while dancing around in nice clothes. The same goes for messy food, as you do not want stains showing in any of the photos from this New Years Eve Party. That would not make for a fond memory and could attract more comments about the stains than your great performance on the dance floor.

The choice to serve steak will be up to you. Simple entrees like baked chicken, ham and stir fry are a few good choices for this Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme. A variety of drinks can be provided for guests, even if you are going the non-alcohol route. There are tons of festive punches that can be homemade and served with food and also to celebrate the New Year. Meat, Poultry or Fruit kabobs can be served as appetizers. These items will go a long way if there a large number of guests are in attendance. Kabobs can be grilled using an indoor cooking device if you live in an area that is colder than states like Texas and Florida during the holidays.

Champion Gifts
Your Dancing with the Stars New Years Eve Party Theme would not be complete without awarding prizes to the champions. After the votes are tallied, the winning couple should receive a special gift. Although there is a large trophy given to champions on the Dancing with the Stars TV show, you should make sure there are two gifts. This makes sure that both partners have something to take home with them after your New Years Eve party. The gifts can be as simple as an award certificate or as elaborate as shiny trophies and everything in between. You can create special gift baskets to include fun items like playing cards, DVDs or gourmet snacks and save lots of money on the purchase and engraving of trophies. However, if you do want to give them, remember to purchase two of the exact same trophies.
