Dangerous Foods that You May Not Know About

Do you know GMO? Perhaps some of you do, and yet, many of you still don't know or have not heard about this topic. GMO stands for "Genetically Modified Organisms" That's when a company take a natural plant, and inserts into it's molecular genome, an additional foreign gene to change the plant's characteristics. Occasionally this can be beneficial, but in most cases this is done in the name of "greed", with total dis-regard for future consequences, and damages that could occur out in the wild of nature. And these GMO plants have now been released into the wild. They cannot be recalled. They are damaging and eradicating our heirloom grains, fruits, and vegetables. The plant diversity that took millions of years to make adjustments, have now been changed in just a few months time. This is turning our plant diversity into a monoculture type of farming. Only one type of plant will be available. And you will become totally dependent on Monsanto for your food source, unless you take action to stop this insanity.

Now, for the villan. Have you heard of Monsanto Corp.? How about Dow Chemical Co.? I'll this time concentrate on Monsanto. Monsanto's goal is to totally control the Earth's agriculture food supply. It is my opinion that this is a dangerous goal, and a careless one. Monsanto has genetically modified many plant foods to suit their purposes. Do you know if you are eating their GMO's? Perhaps not. That's because Monsanto had lobbied Washington so that the produce that you buy at the super markets will not be identified as a GMO product. In reality, you do not know that you are eating such modified products. And of course, there's the old saying, "you are what you eat". And some of the results of eating those food source are just coming to light. It doesn't look very promising. Now, even if the super market was to label the food that you buy as being a GMO product, you are still at risk! Think about it. Beef eat grains, and oats, and hay. You eat beef. Chickens eat corn, and other poultry feed. You eat chickens and eggs. If they've been fed GMO products, you will never know, because the law gives Monsanto a free pass to do whatever they want with their GMO foods. The Dept. of Agriculture is not interested in preserving your best interest, and your health. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Hasn't the government lately been more interested to cater to big business, than to protect the people who put them there? Go figure! The Europeans are more fortunate than us in the USA. Their supermarkets do identify GMO products. And the GMO polluted food sales there are not a as great as "natural foods".

A few months ago, I saw a documentary about Monsanto and how they affect our country's farmers. There was one farmer that found people on his land. They were bold and did pretty much what they wanted. They told him that his crop was theirs, because Monsanto's patented plants has pollinated his crops. And a judge backed up Monsanto in this lawsuit. The goons kept on harassing the local farmers, and forcing them to sign exclusive contracts with Monsanto. In the contract, the farmers were not to talk with the news media, nor their children or grandchildren. He could only buy Monsanto's genetically engineered seeds (they can't create a good seeds for the next crop, they've been modified not to reproduce). So each and every year, new seeds have to be purchased only from Monsanto. This also applies to fertilizers, and Roundup insecticide. His production was less than when he used heirloom seeds, and Monsanto's crops were not any better than the former crops which had been used.

They were bankrupting the farmers, and their safety was in peril. If any farmer protested, he faced dire consequences. Well, this one farmer was brave to speak out. Which accounted for the above TV Documentary. He called up Monsanto, and told them that if his crop is theirs, then to come and harvest it. They refused. He sued them in court, for the sum of $600.00 for his cost of cutting down "their" crop. Monsanto lawers were so embarrassed with this, that they settled this out on the sidewalk. That was the crack in the Monsanto's armor. Then other farmers started to also talk to the media.

It won't be long now that Monsanto's patents will expire for their genetically modified crops, and seeds. The outcome should be interesting.

So if you don't want to become genetically modified my Monsanto's GMO's, the time has come to educate yourselves on this topic. Personally, I'd rather look human than look like a Martian! How about you?
