I bet when you think of venom your mind suddenly think of snakes but you probably would never imagine that a octopus that is the size of a golf ball carries venom that actually kills humans. A blue ringed octopus when born is the size of a pea and is fully grown by the time it reaches the size of a golf ball. Blue ringed octopus only lives for about a total of two years they are very dangerous. There rings have been know to light up whenever that feel threaten. The issue with a blue ringed octopus is there bite is painless you can't even tell that you have been bitten, but the poison that they carry has been known to be the worst poison then any other land animal known to man. They can kill up to 25 people with there poison in a matter of minutes.

These little octopus can easily be stepped on and with just that there can be serious injuries. The poison resides in the saliva glands the venom they carry has this poison called maculotoxin this is what makes this venom extra dangerous then even king cobra snakes. For the most part the blue ringed octopus has only been known to bite it's victims only if picked up so don't ever pick up one. When you have be bitten by an blue ring first you may start to feel a numb feeling around your mouth the feeling will then spread to your face and neck area you lose your sense of touch also. You may begin to feel very nausea and begin to vomit within seconds you become blind you can't talk at this point, neither can you swallow. About five minutes later you will be paralyzed and unable to breath there is no known antidote for this at this time and the only treatment if rescued in a timely matter is to have your heart massage and artificial respiration until this dangerous poison has worked it's way out of your body your chances for survival are slim, but your chances of getting attack by one is rare as well.

The blue ringed octopus can be found living around the coast of Australia. You may see them around rocky pools or in shallow waters. The blue ringed octopus food of choice is crabs and already disable fish. The female blue ring lays about fifty eggs in the fall she carries her eggs underneath her arms and once the eggs has hatch in about three to five months the female dies during this time. Children should not be left alone near places that have blue ringed octopus these creatures do look harmless but the look is really deceiving. They are literally dangerous very harmful to your body can cause very serous injuries if not death so be aware and don't be fooled by the size of them.
