Dannielynn's Daddy Uncovered After Months

Carrie Lowe
Chaos and turmoil has been the chief factors in the paternity test of Dannielynn born on September 7, 2006. Approximately 2 months after Anna Nicole Smith's premature death, the results of the paternity test are in today in the Nassau, Bahamas courtroom. While the parties are under a gag order, there is no chance these results will stay buried. Larry Birkhead emerged from the Nassau, Bahamas courthouse at 3:45p.m. and announced, "I told you so!"

The results of the paternity test have determined for sure that Larry Birkhead is in fact the biological father of Dannielynn who is currently 7 months old. Nothing is determined yet in terms of custody; however, the birth certificate will be expected to be amended in the near future. The next major milestone in the case will be determining who is awarded custody of the precious little girl.

Larry Birkhead did say that his next stop today would be to the toy store to start shopping for his baby girl some presents. He almost broke into tears before leaving the press release after the trial today. This marks the end of a 6-month paternity battle that started even before Anna Nicole Smith's death. This is a very happy day for Birkhead as well as the other members of his family as they are able to walk away from this hearing with a victory.

Only time will tell for the custody issues, however in the United States courts, the biological parents always have a major advantage in the custody issues, so now it is left to the Nassau, Bahamas judge overseeing the case to determine at a Friday afternoon court hearing who will be awarded custody following the paternity results. Howard K. Stern has stated in the press conference that he will assist Larry Birkhead in securing sole custody of little Dannielynn. More information will be flowing once the gag order surrounding the case is lifted in the future. In the meantime, congratulations to Larry Birkhead!

I always felt that Birkhead came across as very genuine when interviewed about the baby. Maybe this stuff can die down now.

Larry will try to become the trustee too =/

I'm so happy for Dannielynn and Larry. Larry has always claimed paternity to Dannielynn even before Anna's death. Maybe everyone can work together and form a good bond for the child.

I think Larry and Howard are being very mature and intelligent about this. I'm very happy to read that after all the crazy stuff you hear.

I think that the child should be with the natural birth father but if both parties agree, then Stern should get some type of visitation because he has been raising her even though Birkhead has been persuing custody. I put myself in both of their shoes and I do believe that they both might have a love for the child. It was nice to see the paternity suit over with though.

It's about time. Everyone knew that this baby was his. Now maybe father and daughter can finally be together.

I agree, the fact he was fighting before she died speaks volumes to me as well. That's much better than coming forward after the death looking for money and money only. He's not stupid he knew he didn't stand a chance at sole custody with Anna alive, but he still tried. He would have ended up with visitation if nothing else, hopefully he will get custody now.

I find the most touching part to be that Larry started fighting for Dannielynn well before Anna Nicole died -- just to have visitation, if nothing else. He may really care for the little girl. I don't feel the slightest bit of sympathy for Howard, as he knew he was not the daddy -- evidence? He and Anna Nicole asked someone else to be on the birth certificate in order to cut Larry out (the someone else was willing, but said he'd had a vasectomy). Would he have done that if he were, in fact, the father? Daddies have rights too. So do grandparents. Yay Larry! Raise her right, with her cute little cousins.

I'm to hope that Larry will let Howard be part of her life, I'm sure they have a bond! Very good article!
