Danny Gokey: Life and Struggles

Danny Gokey, 28, is still in the running of American Idol. But what great tragedy did he face just weeks before the competition? The grief was unbearable and Danny had to drag himself to the competition. He said that he wanted to do it for his wife.

Not only did he go to the competition, but he originally received "yeses" across the board from the judges and is now in the top 12. Now it is up to America to vote for a winner. Danny has a very unique voice, with talent that is unbelievable to peoples ears. Every song he sings he gets a standing ovation from Paula(But then again, who doesn't). Fantasia, the winner of the first American Idol season, said that she believed that Danny could win it all. Time will tell.

Gokey's best friend, from his hometown of Milwaukee, was Jamar Rogers. He helped Danny through the rough times and made it to the top 54, while he was cut in the mass cuts where the contestants were placed in different rooms. Danny was sad to see him go, but he knew that with Jamar's support, he made it to where he was now.

What is next for Danny Gokey? I will tell you that he has already wowed the judges and just needs to keep it strong. Although the judges give comments on the singers, only American can make his dreams come true, so his fate rests in the people's hands.
