Danny Gokey's Performance of "Come Rain or Shine" for Rat Pack Week on American Idol

One thing I will say about Danny Gokey's performances on American Idol this season, he connects with each song and in turn get the audience to connect with him and the song as well.

When he sang Come Rain or Shine it was a professional performance from start to finish. He is not about all the lighting and special effects as some contestants are. He can just stand there with the mic and do his thing.

The song was very bluesy and filled with a lot of heart and soul that Danny always manages to put into each performance. He knew exactly when to pull back and be soft and soulful and when to open it up and pour it on to wow the crowd.

You can tell by watching Danny week by week that his confidence level is growing and he knows he's got "it". The good thing is not only is he confident each week in his performances, but also in who he is as an artist and what his style is. He has defined himself as an American Idol stand out and a future recording artist.
