DANNY WALLACE

NO HARM DONE...

Karen Francis
Danny Wallace was born on December 28, 1954 in a small town of Huntsville, Alabama, almost 54 years ago. I can imagine that neither Danny nor any of his family could have guessed what God was going to do not only through him, but in him.

I just recently became acquainted with this man of God when a friend of mine handed me a CD entitled No Harm Done...The Story of Danny Wallace. As a worshipper people give me music all the time to listen to, so I was excited to hear this artist's music ministry. However, when I asked what kind of music this was my friend said, it's not music, it's his testimony, so I thought, hmm, okay I'll check it out later.

My friend and I had dinner and did some shopping and then we parted ways. When I was driving home, I remembered the CD she had given me and decided to see what this testimony was about. Immediately I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful musical intro and then this very kind voice of Danny Wallace emerged and began his testimony of growing up in a small town in Alabama.

I have to tell you that I was not prepared for what I was about to hear. When Danny Wallace began to go into the details of his early childhood, my spirit was so unsettled that about half way into the CD, I had to turn it off. I didn't really know why I had become so upset and it wasn't until later that evening I realized that Danny's testimony had awakened the early childhood sexual abuse that I had encountered at the age of 4 or 5.

Although I had abuse in my early children, it was NOTHING compared to what I was hearing from Danny Wallace. I remember going home that evening and my heart still hurting for what happened to Danny. As I prayed that night I was almost upset with God. In my heart, I just didn't understand WHY this horrible abuse happened to this little innocent boy. I kept thinking over and over, "he was only a baby".

The next day Danny's story was still on my mind, so I decided to continue to listen to the CD and I was encouraged to hear that Danny had come to know Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior at the age of 11. My heart rejoiced at the knowledge of knowing that God had revealed himself to Danny and everything that the enemy meant for Danny's demise that God was working it toward his good.

I don't believe in coincidences, I believe in divine appointments and when my friend allowed me to listen to this CD, it was a divine appointment. You see, I was sexually abused by a woman when I was a little girl. I grew up in the Bronx and in kindergarten, both my parents worked, so I was considered a latch key kid. My brother was older then me and got home after me, so I was on my own until he came home.

This woman actually lived in our neighborhood and every time I would get off the bus, she seemed to be waiting for me outside or would catch me as I entered the brownstone where we lived. I was so young I didn't understand what was going on. I didn't know how or what to feel, so I mostly felt in fear of her. I recall a time she forced me into an abandoned shed where she was in the process of violating me when one of her friends walked in and asked her what she was doing.

She immediately jumped up and became very nervous and told the other woman that I had fallen down and she was seeing if I was hurt. At that point I knew this can't be right, because the look on that woman's face was pure horror. The woman asked me if I needed help and as my abuser stood squeezing my hand as hard as she could, I said"no, I am okay".

Fortunately the abuse stopped for that day, but it continued for some time and I was so afraid to tell my family. You see my father was always working and my mother never wanted to hear or discuss anything that was bad. However I did have a babysitter that I had grown to trust, so I did get up the courage to finally tell her about what this woman was doing to me. My babysitter confronted the woman and the abuse ended.

Once you experience that kind of abuse it's hard to have right thinking about people and relationships. Growing up I became a tomboy and had lots of guy friends, but very few female friends as I simply did not trust women. Even to this day, the female friends that I have in my inner circle I have known most of them for 15 to 25 years.

I sat there in my car listening to the end of Danny Wallace's testimony, I was sobbing uncontrollably because I could relate to Danny's story, but most importantly I could relate to his forgiving heart. Once you hear Danny's story, it will be very hard for you to understand the title of his CD, No Harm Done. Most human begins would have taken their lives for all that Danny endured, but God had an ultimate plan and purpose for his life.

As I mentioned earlier, I believe in divine appointments and me listening to this CD was divine because of my distain for homosexuality and not just for the acts of homosexuality but for the people that participated and lived this life style. I was judging them all the time and God allowed me to hear Danny's story so that I would understand how the enemy could come in and put this stronghold into people's lives.

While I always thought of homosexuals and homosexuality as deviant, sick behavior, I never considered that in the mind of someone that has been abused, an innocent admiration for the same sex could be perverted into something that the enemy would use to keep them in bondage. My heart as well as my mind has been transformed by listening to this testimony.

The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The Lamb of God was right there with Danny every step of his journey, letting him know that He would NEVER leave him or forsake him and The lamb was true to His word. God is not a man that he should lie.

The other thing that encouraged me about Danny's story is his family, particularly his wife and how she loved him through his trails. I was thinking, "Man, now that's love"! Most of us can only dream of having a significant other that would display this kind of love in its purest form. It's almost Agape like, which we typically only experience from God. Only God could have orchestrated that union between Danny and his wife and it is BLESSED.

If you want to know a Father who loves you, I encourage you to step out in faith and please get this CD in your hands and let the Holy Spirit minister life to you through His servant. His humble and faithful servant Danny Wallace. You can contact Danny Wallace's ministry through Bob Bostick @ 678-232-4593 or wamedia@bellsouth.net/danny@dannywallace.org.
