Danube Restaurant: Invigorating Austrian Cuisine in NYC

I can not emphasize it enough how much I love to try different cuisine. This is why I highly recommend this particular restaurant. The staff is very attentive, detail oriented and very knowledgeable. The decor is absolutely breath taking! You will be taken aghast by the copper leaves and gold paint and romantic murals inspired by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. World renowned chef David Bouley takes part as owner of David Bouley restaurant and owner of Danube which reflects the invigorating taste of Austrian, German and French cuisine in Danube.

The restaurant also caters events and offers a wine room which is more of an intimate setting and a gold room featuring an onyx bar Mosaic paintings for private parties. The Main Dining Room - The dramatic main dining room with 15 feet ceilings accommodates up to 70 for seated dinner and 115 for cocktail. There is also a cozy candle-filled bar, with a handful of tables and sofas, is a sophisticated cocktail spot. Yes of course for all that experience and impeccable service the price is high but it is well worth it. Danube restaurant received the number one ranking for decor in the Zagat Survey of New York.

The Chestnut Honey Glazed Long Island Duck Breast with Wild Mushrooms, Corn Puree and Seared Foie Gras is very good, and the Pennsylvania Chicken Breast with Budapest Paprika Sauce, Cheese Spätzle Zucchini and Artichoke is extremely tasty as well. The dress code their is business casual if you are going a business meeting or simply want to indulge with a loved one this is a wonderful place. I found it very romantic as the Tall tabletop candles accentuate the golden radiance of the room. I would definitely go back again and again! There are definitely few fine dining rooms that are this comfortable; with plush velvet curtains and high-backed settees.

Enjoy - During drinks the complimentary Tuna tartare and weiner schnitzel miniatures and after ordering the complimentary Smoked salmon with creme fraiche. I also recommend Riesling for your wine selection. After desert, I indulged in some complimentary chocolate truffles and as I walked out of the door I was handed a goody bag. You definitely spend your money right on a meal in DANUBE. I almost forgot to mention the second time I went to this delightful place my boyfriend had taken me there for our six year anniversary as boyfriend and girlfriend! How sweet right? Anyway after dinner with the check they handed us a card that was handwritten which I still have that read:

"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING DANUBE TO CELEBRATE YOUR SPECIAL DAY!

if this isn't the best place to dine then I don't know what is! Happy dining!!
