Dare to Love Again

A Prophecy

Shey Marque
Waking under the fog,
There's ice on the mirror;
Wet and shining in the filtered sunlight.
As it melts you appear, bright and luminous;
Your silence exposed, intensified.
It's then I see you; dare to hope again.

Disbelief gives way to numbness;
As the fog descends I inhale
Slippery, intoxicating esperessence.
My subliminal self is learning the new language
On your face; the semiotic transfer of secrets.
It's then I hear you; begin to believe again.

Upon this lucid interval your lullaby infiltrates
My mind, and there creates a perennial posy.
A message so tangible, inscribed with symbols of gold,
Elicits a rare response pure of heart;
Yet I dare not shatter the fragile silence.
It's then I touch you; accept to trust again.

Resonant pulses echo and chant
Around the cirque of my soul
With each brush of a mouth against skin.
As if laying a stratum of prophecy;
Familiar and infinite, there's no way back.
It's then I love you; I love again.
