Following the injuries of singer Jewel and E! commentator Nancy O'Dell, Steve-O is the third celebrity to take a seat on the bench. While Jewel and O'Dell were able to be replaced, it is yet undetermined whether or not Schwimmer will be forced to withdraw from the competition or if Steve-O will return next week.
Injured stars from previous seasons include U.S. Olympic Volleyball Gold Medalist Misty Mays, All My Children diva Susan Lucci and Priscilla Pressley. Marie Osmond had a fainting episode on live television, but was not forced to withdraw from the competition.
While Steve-O did not perform Monday evening, it remains to be seen whether or not Steve-O and Schwimmer will return to the competition next week. The couple was judged on their mediocre dress rehearsal Salsa performance, which was criticized as not being very much like a Salsa. Judge Len Goodman blasted Schwimmer for adding stunts and steps that didn't belong in a Salsa, blaming her for what happened to Steve-O during the final flip and floor landing.
Steve-O injured his back on the landing of the final flip of the routine. When he landed on his back, he landed on his mic pack and pressed it into his spine. At the time of the airing, no more information was available about Steve-O's condition. It remains to be seen whether or not Steve-O will appear on tonight's results show.

Post a CommentI sort of agree with you, but she doesn't have the reputation of being the Ballroom Rebel for nothing. The dance really wasn't very salsa-like, you've got to admit. Maybe if she stayed with Salsa choreography, SteveO wouldn't have gotten injured...
Len is a real jerk! It is NOT Lacey's fault that Steve-O got hurt! The judges were totally out of line last night in the comments and treatment of Lacey!!! They were down right rude:( I am sick of their attitude towards her!
