Dark Blue - TNT's Hottest Addition Closes Strong

I must admit I became addicted to Dark Blue before the season ever started. I have been a fan of Dylan McDermott for years and was disappointed when "BigShots," an ABC series ,ended in 2008. When I saw that he would be headlining TNT's newest series I was ecstatic. It was almost as good when Andrew McCarthy joined Lipstick Jungle, NBC's two series wonder. Dylan is in his glory in Dark Blue. What I love so much about the show is that it's not just another "cops and robbers" type of dialogue but truly what it would be like to be undercover and live the lifestyle. It's completely dysfunctional, irreverent, and an adrenaline rush to the max. I often find myself obsessing over the characters, specifically Jaime and Dean.

There are really four main characters. Dylan is the lead of the unit and finds himself in moral dilemmas every episode. He is take charge and those gorgeous eyes make this perfect viewing for both husband and wife. Let's just say everyone gets something out of it! Dean is an undercover agent that's basically all bad boy to the core. He doesn't let his emotions get in the way of his job, but sometimes the softer side will surface like it did in the episode when Jaime, another undercover agent, and he gave into their lust and anger.

Ty is an agent that has just recently been married and continually fights his dual personality of husband and potential father versus hard core cop. Jaime is the last addition who had a whirlwind past and finally found her way into the police academy. Dylan picks her up for the fourth to their threesome and uses her past to get him into darker places than he could without her. She continually struggles to find her new self and leave the past behind. With a boss like Carter, (Dylan McDermott) it becomes difficult for her to keep from crossing the line. She is a great character and I can relate with her constant battle with hooking up with Dean the bad boy on the side while having a District Attorney boyfriend waiting at home. I think most women are attracted to the bad boy image even though they know it's not good for them. Dark Blue plays off of this and I bet that the female viewership is pretty even with the male number.

If you want some late night TV on Wednesday that is worth going to bed with an adrenaline rush for, Dark Blue is your ticket to awesome action, suspense, drama, and what I like to call "rough romance." Catch up On Demand with Comcast Cable or on TNT's website for past episodes and you'll be ready for Season 2 like the rest of us hard core viewers.
