'Dark Knight Rises' Trailer Attached to Final 'Harry Potter' Movie?

Robert Dougherty

The first Dark Knight Rises trailer will have the most scrutinized 93 seconds of footage this year. Although The Dark Knight won't fully rise again for 12 more months, just seeing a glimpse of him in a trailer will be enough to pacify fans for months. Even though Christopher Nolan is still filming his third Batman epic, he is now ready to throw starving fans a bone. What's more, the first look for next summer's biggest epic will premiere before this summer's biggest blockbuster.

As if Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 didn't need any more hype, Warner Brothers is attaching the first Dark Knight Rises teaser before that grand finale. According to the website Superhero Hype, it will be a 93 second long trailer, although the site offered no clues toward the content.

Because filming is still in progress, there's virtually no chance of seeing a large amount of new footage. After all, the first teaser for The Dark Knight didn't show any scenes, as it just displayed a Batman logo. However, the voiceover made up for it, as fans heard Heath Ledger's Joker voice for the first time, along with Alfred's proclamation about how men like the Joker "want to watch the world burn."

That set the tone for the dark, brutal epic to come a year later, so similar teases are expected for this sequel. So far, all audiences have to go on is an image of Tom Hardy's Bane, and a leaked clip of Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway doing a scene together. Yet in addition to the trailer, the first poster for the film will be released next Friday as well, according to Superhero Hype.

Would Batman fans flock to Harry Potter just to see the teaser? Given that most of the world will see the boy wizard's final battles next weekend, it probably won't make a difference either way. When the first trailers came out for Star Wars Episode I, some fanatical fans probably snuck into movies that had the teasers attached- but that was in the pre-YouTube era.

Nowadays, fans who don't want to sneak into Harry Potter can just wait on YouTube for someone to upload the teaser, or for Warner Brothers to officially put it up. Given how Potter fans will sell out the first screenings, and how Batman fans are now on notice to watch for a trailer, at least one bootleg copy will probably go on YouTube by next Friday morning.

Warner Brothers would likely upload a better copy of the teaser hours later, if not a day or two later. But for those on edge for The Dark Knight Rises, even an slightly longer wait for the trailer is too long. Therefore, it'll be a wonder if they make it to next summer, yet the wait could be a little easier after they see and hear the trailer next week.
