The story first starts over 1000 years ago. The Wars of Fire were being fought across the lands of Ashan. The alliance of men, elves, wizards, and more were up against the evil demons. The alliance eventually triumphed after the sacrifice of one of their great wizards, Sar-Elam, who is also known as the Seventh Dragon. Sar-Elam used parts of his own being to cast the demons into an eternal prison.
However, while performing this ritual, one of Sar-Elam's own students, Sar-Shazar, sabotaged the ritual. He flawed the prison in such a way so that any time there was an eclipse, demonic influences could seep out into the world. Sar-Shazar prophesied that the son of the Demon Sovereign would be born one day and free the demons of their prison.
Present day, a young man named Sareth trains in the ways of magic and steel. Sareth is an orphan that was raised by a powerful mage named Phenrig. His path somehow begins to intertwine with the dark prophecy.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is a first person hack and slash game. As you adventure throughout the land, you will take on tons of enemies with either weapons, spells, or whatever you find in your environment. This game features real world physics and an environment that you can literally interact with to your advantage.
Pick up an object and toss it at your foes. Push them into spikes. Lead them into a trap where logs fall on their heads. Kick them off a chasm to a death far below. Knock them into a fire. Or cut a rope and drop a chandelier on their heads. If you prefer, you can use your various weapons to lop off their heads or impale them. It's all up to you! Be forewarned, it is quite a visceral experience!
You have a choice of 30 types weapons at your disposal along with various spells. You can customize and evolve your character down the path of either a mage, a warrior or an assassin with the new Skill Evolution System.
The creatures you will face include: cyclops, face huggers, ghouls, goblins, lichs, necromancers, spiders, Paokai, orcs, stonehelm guards, and black guards. Your journeys will span across 12 huge levels. If you get tired of single player mode, you can play with up to 32 of your friends online in Crusade mode.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic features top of the line graphics because of the Source Engine it contains. The highly detailed visuals will just blow you away. The soundtrack and sound effect are just superb. As for controls, you will find them to be unexpectedly fluid and flawless.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is available for your PC. It has an ESRB rating of M for mature. This is because it features blood, gore, intense violence, language, and partial nudity. Sorry kids! This game is inappropriate for you! If you like to cheat or if you need a bit of help... a strategy guide is available.
