Dark Phenomenon

What a dark and gloomy night it was. Yet it was a cool night for a walk. Stopping at the park, I decided to sit and take in the fresh air. From a distance I spotted a grey figure. My eyes shifted from side to side. The dark shape of a man standing afar. I wish I could get a better view. Yes it was definitely a shadow of a man standing off in the distance. He seemed to have spotted me as well. He was standing very still. The air seemed to radiate with a evil presence I had never known.

The shape of the man was like a storm cloud. He started to move as if he were floating. As he moved toward me I felt the urge to run. Yet I could not. I could not break my eyes away as the seven foot figure approached me. I realized that this dark evil was not a man. I burst out into a sprint across the grass. I ran as fast as I could get my legs to move. Looking over my shoulder I could see it approaching. It had caught up with me in a matter of seconds! It was faster than lightning to my eyes. With no energy left in me I could not run any further. Dread filled my soul and my legs were weakened. Frozen in fear I slowly turned to face it. It lingered near me. As if it were taunting my soul.

The dark phenomenon let out a sound that was so loud it pierced my ears. A type of hissing that could have never come from a earthly creature. Not from a house cat, tiger, or any other animal known to man. My heart was pounding from my chest. I had a sensation of passing out, but managed not too. Should I dare look up I thought. Courageously lifting my head, to look at this evil fog , I stood paralyzed. The dark mass started to swirl around me. The hissing sound getting louder and the figure was so dark. Faster and faster it moved more like a tornado now. Sucking itself down into the ground. It disappeared quickly. It had gone away and the quiet of the night remained.

To this day I always wonder what the dark mass was. Wondering if it would ever come back. I never go walking in the dark anymore. Paranoid tendencies fill my thoughts when I am in the dark. As I am always looking over my shoulder forevermore.
