Darkness Surrounds, but You Were Always My Light!
My Father! My Friend! My Hero!
When I look forward I see all the emptiness that was left behind by your passing. I cannot see how to be the man I need to be without you.
When I see my life now, the whole I am in, I cannot see a way out for me because you are not here to lift me.
I know you taught me so much, taught me how to live, how to love, and how to be a man. But without you here Dad, I am lost and forever the darkness surrounds me.
Life is hard, lonely, and deadly, but through it all I knew I had a friend. Now I cannot see anything that lies ahead.
When I was young and would scrape my knees you would take away the pain, you were always what I needed. When I became a father I knew I had to be more then you were to make you proud. There was never a limit to the things you did for me. The love you showed me is the strength I summons to get through every day.
At every step in my life I tried to make you proud. But now I'll never get to see you smile when I graduate this June. Dad I did it for you!
When I want to give up, when I can't take another step, I think about you, and hope you are watching from above, and I find the strength for one more step. Though it is pointless to continue now, I know it is what you would want me to do. So every day Dad is dedicated to you.
