First, I am leisure gamer. It is rare that I find a game that captivates me and draws me in for hours at a time. I prefer swords over guns, medieval over modern. Most games I can put down with ease. Darksiders keeps me glued until it's time to charge the controller.
Opening graphics set the tone, the deception of the one of the Four Horsemen, as War is drawn into the epic battle between Heaven and Hell. Experience War at full power, in his prime, then face the sentence as War is stripped of his power and returned to Earth.
A century has passed. Humankind is gone and the remains of cities are ravaged. War must strike a deal with the various demons against the Destroyer. Collect souls for merchandise. Acquire your power back a little at a time. And face down the mighty demons from hell and the angles of Heaven.
The storyline draws you in and grips you from one fast paced part of the puzzle to the next. While well scripted, you have the opportunity to explore areas as well, or you can hack and slash your way in a bloody frenzy from one story point to the next. Certainly, War's sense of personality and cryptic comments add entertainment to what could have been an overly dramatic tone.
The effects are very graphic. War has instant kill options that clearly show heads being chopped off, swords plunged through, and the subsequent arterial spray and huge pools of blood. This is not for the young or faint of heart. Some with a high sense of religion may find the story line offensive.
For this gamer, the game is well worth it's price. (Don't forget to download the scythe!) Now, I have some hacking and slashing and soul collecting to do if you don't mind..... (And hey, what about the stories of those other Horsemen?)

Post a CommentDarksiders is developed by Vigil Games . This is a really exiting action-adventure video game. This is supported on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360. As a first game it is good. The apocalyptic difficulty is quite interesting. I am plying this game on XBox-360. In case you are lloking for a new action-adventure video game you may try this. It is not often that we get games that combine the best of both worlds in the same way as Darksiders.
