About two days after a man wearing a Darth Vader mask and brandishing a butcher's knife walked into the Get & Go convenience store and demanded money from a clerk, Ferndale police have made an arrest. The thief, Tony Hernandez, actually entered the store without the mask, and was then caught on camera pulling the mask over his head before demanding the cash in the store's register.
Police were able to release a picture of the un-masked version of Hernandez and local residents in Ferndale directed police to his neighborhood, also in Ferndale. He was arraigned in Ferndale's 43rd District Court and was charged with armed robbery. If convicted, Hernandez could face up to life in prison.
