Currently there are more people seeking work than there are jobs to fill them. None the less, if you have the qualifications and are persistent in your job search, you will be able to secure a position.
Working from home doing data does have drawbacks. You will be hired on as a subcontractor, which means you will not be eligible for any company benefits. If these benefits are important to you than maybe this type of work will not be an option. Also you as a subcontractor are responsible for any income taxes.
The benefits to working from home could out way the negative drawbacks. You will be able to work flexible hours, spend time with your family and family activities without lost time from work. The expense of working from home is way less than working outside the home. You will not need to incur car expenses, clothing expenses, and childcare expenses and work in a cubicle all day.
With the competitiveness of the data entry field, you will need to demonstrate speed, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines. You will need to finish work on deadlines when the company needs the work completed. Consistently meeting deadlines shows he company your ability to do the work and in return will improve your chances of getting more work.
More than likely, you will be contracted for work through a data entry service. These services are hired by companies to handle the task of having a pool of data entry personnel to handle the work. It will be the data entry service that you will be contracted with. These services inspect the quality of your work and make the determination as to whether or not you meet their standards.
With the supply of data entry personnel higher than the companies needing them, the pay scale currently isn't at its best. However, once these companies go more main stream and begin outsourcing more of their work to these data entry service companies the supply will eventually increase. With the increased demand for data entry work from home personnel there will be the ability to earn a lot more money.
