Date with Reality

Cristina Olvera
No one ever told her life was going to be easy,
But for some reason she thinks it should be.
She spends her day in front of the T.V.
Watching MTV and doing her hair.
She's never worked a day in her life
And it's her little boy that will pay the price.

She's almost twenty now and she likes to say
I don't have to work; my daddy will take care of me.
She expects the rest of the family to do the same
And then carries on without any shame.
She needs to realize life isn't a game.
She needs a date with reality,
Before it's too late.
