Hunting Accident or Murder?

An Overview of Luzerne County

There are certainly many interesting things to do in Wilkes-Barre, and Luzerne County Pennsylvania. The area has been rocked by scandal and a major FBI investigation and probe. People are already being convicted and going to jail. The voters believed they had no choice but to start all over and approved the home rule form of government. A transition committee is working hard to ensure a smooth transition to the new government. On top of all this comes a new national program about an incident involving local residents.

The Show

Luzerne County has certainly had its share of local, state, and national news lately. Now, a tragedy involving local residents will be on national television on April 22, 2011. Tomorrow at 9 pm, Dateline on NBC will present an hour long program entitled "As Darkness Fell." It is a story about local residents who were involved in a hunting accident on their honeymoon in Canada. The couple loved hunting, were very experienced, and went hunting on their honeymoon. A terrible event occurred on the trip. The wife shot her husband to death, and then said it was an accident as she taught her husband was actually a bear.

The case went to court and the woman was acquitted. The court said that the prosecution could not prove that the woman knowingly shot her husband on purpose.

You Decide

Now it is your turn. Please watch the show and let us know if you think this was just as accident or a real murder. For an interesting report on the show click here and check out the web site.
