Dates Change, but Some Things Never Do

A Walk Through the Graveyard

I wrote somewhere on a piece of media:

"In light of Earth day coming up do not forget the humanity within it as well...the future in all ways depend on us."

Lori and I along with our daughter Chelsea, walked through a cemetery yesterday...cleaned up the place a bit and fixed fallen flower vases what have you...and picked up sticks fallen from the trees left to our disposal. We through them in the back of my mom's truck borrowed for the outing. The house had become exactly that, just a house. I smiled in the knowledge that possibly we were helping them rest in their peace as my daughter in all her life and beauty roamed about talking, and singing, and picking up sticks. We strolled in the warmth of spring finally arriving and a nice breeze filled me there with a calm I had not felt in a long time. Everything somehow seemed right there. I was so at peace with everything in this haven of death as we visited friends. The story of a place and time was all right here. Before us in the identities of people I would never meet, or talk to, but people none the less. A number of them I had known. Irony came from the two at rest, in comparison, where one had simply lost control and one had no control at all.

Alas, it is ironic how life mimics death and vice versa. We took all those sticks and we built a fire in a home made pit back at the house that is no longer ours. We ate hamburgers and hot dogs, and toasted marshmallows, and in the light of everything that is we got too drunk. I kissed my baby girl to bed and helped my girl as she vomited and I thought to myself...

"I love, I really do, and that goes for all of you."

Thanks for being my friend the one's that truly are...and will be...and are to come.
