Dating Anniversary Ideas for Couples

penguins29
It's common for couples who have been dating for a while to celebrate anniversaries together, whether it is 6 months, 1 year or more. What's appropriate for married couples may not be appropriate for dating couples. Here are some ideas to try when your next milestone anniversary comes up.

Gifts

Dating anniversary gifts can be as extravagant or as small as you'd like. Gifts are not necessary, but are commonly given to each other if you plan on celebrating an anniversary together. For example, if you are celebrating your 1 year anniversary together, you could put together a scrapbook or photo album of pictures of the both of you throughout the last year of dating. Include movie stubs, concert tickets, and other little things to remind you of all of your fun times together. Scrapbooks are usually done by the women, but guys can do them too.

Some other gift ideas include clothing, jewelry, tickets to a concert or cologne/perfume. Although it's not too original, flowers and/or candy are no-brainer gifts. It's most common for guys to give their girls these types of gifts. Romantic cards are a gift that either the man or woman can give.

Use your imagination for gift ideas. Look at what kind of relationship you have together. Is it a fun loving relationship, or more romantic? A gift might also accompany a date, but it doesn't have to. There are many good date ideas to plan, that are good enough on their own.

Date Ideas

My favorite date idea for a major anniversary, such as 1 year, is to go back to where you first met. If you went to a romantic restaurant for your first date, then you may want to make reservations for the same restaurant 1 year later. It's a great way to relive the memories, and it's even better when you've been dating for several years. You might even create a tradition to come back to that same restaurant on each dating anniversary.

Another one of my favorite date ideas is to spend the night at an amusement park. What's more fun than to ride scary roller coasters side by side, or to share a funnel cake with each other? This is a great idea for couples who are adventurous and fun loving.

For a sports loving couple, you could plan on going to your favorite sporting event, such as a hockey or football game. If you do some research, you might even be able to get 'Happy Anniversary' on the scoreboard! Again, this isn't quite as romantic as the dinner idea, but it sure is fun.

If you have the time to take off, you might plan on going on a weekend getaway or vacation together. Many hotels and resorts have special anniversary packages for couples, which usually include a meal for two, a bottle of wine and candy or flowers. Visiting the mountains in the fall is beautiful, especially if you can find a lodge with a fireplace and hot tub. Or, if you're lucky enough to live near the beach, you might be able to stay in a beachfront resort for the weekend. There are many different options for this idea; all you have to do is use your imagination.

Overall, a dating anniversary is a special time for a couple. Not every couple decides to celebrate them, but if you intend on celebrating these milestones, these ideas should be quite helpful in planning an anniversary.

This made me laugh, because my husband and I fell for each other in Pakistan, and we wondered how it could be romantic to drive around in noisy rickshaws! Now it's our second anniversary, but I think we'll pass on the 'romantic' rickshaw ride and go somewhere in the car. Oh and we'll pass on the amusement parts in the subcontinent if we want to live for another anniversary. Maybe I should come up with some ideas for couples in Pakistan...
