You don't have to be disabled to join the site. The people on the website all have there own different disabilities, or none. The disabled can be from colorblind to Cerebral Palsy. I have made some friends on that site. I just sign in and check my mail, and head to the people online section. There I can choose who I would like to chat with, as there name, location, disability, and beginning of their profile is listed there.
I would suggest checking out the website if you have a disability or do not mind others that do. Also, if you know someone who has a disability, please refer them to the website. I think it is hard for those that are disabled to find someone to connect with that understands. That is my opinion. I think it is a great service, and best of all it is free!
Another site that I have come across is www.nolongerlonely.com. It is also a free site. This site is dedicated to the mentally ill. On this site you can mail people, just like the other website, but you can not private message someone. They do have a people online section. One thing I like about this site is that it has a chat room in it. So you can chat with other people who share the same problems that you do. As far as I know, this is the first dating website for the mentally ill. There are not very many people on this site right now, because it is new and hasn't had time to become popular yet.
If you have trouble finding someone to connect with because of a disability or because of being mentally ill, then I urge you to check out one of these websites. You might find a new friend or a new love interest. You never know unless you try it out.
