David Archuleta "Crushes" ICarly

David Archuleta, runner up in the 2008 7^th season of American Idol, is a rising star in the music industry. Now, with his acting debut on the hit Nickelodeon television show iCarly, he may be taking the big and little screens by storm as well. David Archuleta appeared on a 1 ½ hour special on Nickelodeon, entitled Crush Night, this evening, February 7^th. The appearance is perfectly timed to promote David's newly filmed first music video for his hit single, Crush. Eighteen year old David has sold over 600,000 copies of his debut album, released in November of 2008.

David Archuleta co-hosted the special with teen star Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly fame. His boyish good looks and adorable personality were a perfect compliment to sweet and sassy Miranda. The two teens appeared before and after each commercial break to discuss David's career and talk about his new video. They also discussed what it was like for David to act for the first time. Miranda Cosgrove did appear to embarrass David Archuleta more than once as she asked about his crushes and discussed how many girls in America are "crushing" on David himself.

The new episode of iCarly, entitled "iRocked the Vote", that aired this evening was written to spotlight David Archuleta and his talents. The basic premise of the show was similar to his true life American Idol experiences. The fictional character that David played, also named David Archuleta, was a contestant on an Idol-style show that is called "America Sings". After appearing in an iCarly webcast, David's character receives a huge boost in his popularity. David only had a few lines in the show but did a good job with what he had. Crush night continued with all new episodes of True Jackson, VP and The Naked Brothers. The cap to David Archuleta's appearance in this special was the live performance of his hit song, Crush.

Now that David Archuleta has wet his feet on Crush Night with co-star Miranda Cosgrove, perhaps we will see more of him on television in the future.
