David Archuleta the Front-Runner as American Idol's Top Ten Male Finalists Perform

Are you the next American Idol? Probably not, but one of the ten guys who performed Tuesday Night might have a shot. Tonight was my first time watching the show this season, and I'm glad I did. As much as I hate how they drag the show out with boring clips that are designed to make Americans fall in love with the contestants, the show is still entertaining! I didn't even mind the theme, seventies music. And am I the only one who noticed that this is the first season where some of the people come out on stage with actual instruments that they actually play?

Most of the performances were less than perfect but there were those that stood out. If you didn't watch the show, all you really need to know is that David Archuleta is the frontrunner and everybody else is trying to catch up. He is one of those people who may never be in a bottom three. He seriously has a shot at winning the whole thing. David is one of those rare performers who don't even realize how good he actually is! His rendition Of John Lennon's "Imagine" was pure perfection. I wouldn't be surprised if you find a cover of it on his debut album!

The only other notable performances came from David Hernandez and David Cook. One sang "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" While the other did a rendition of "All Right Now". They were both really good but still couldn't compare to the youthful abundance of talent that Mr. Archuleta possesses.

Now I will move on to the judges. Question, what is Paula Abdul on? She was very loopy, and some of her comments were just dumb, pointless, and schmaltzy. Randy was better, but the only one worth listening to was Simon. He didn't sugar coat any of the boring performances and he did not give anyone false hope. He told it like he heard it.

I am actually interested in this season now. Just as soon as American Idol was getting boring, they found these new crop performers. At the end of the day though, both Jason's, Luke, and the kid with the dread locks need to go. They aren't up to par and they are no match for the three David's! It would be nice if they could condense the show a bit more. They shamelessly drag it out. I'm ready for the final top ten. I am all for kicking off five guys in one night!
