David Atkins 2010 Winter Olympics Ceremonies Narrated by Donald Sutherland
Did You Miss David Atkins' Olympic Masterpiece?
The home viewers watching through NBC could visually capture what the audience witnessed first hand. Upon the very moment Canadian John Miles flowed through a lit Maple Leaf many simply grasped a moment of what's to come.
From entry of famous snowboarder John Miles, history of the aboriginal tribes, a Canadian flag upon it's pole followed by the Parade of Nations to musical guests singing with grace, the lifting polar bear from the surface, Atkins began to cross incredible artistic boundaries.
Donald Sutherland filled the minds of many as the story he told during the ceremonies matched that of perfection. It was very difficult to turn away from the magic Sutherland offered each segment.
But nothing deemed more spectacular than the floor turning into water as whales pushed through with water spraying out of blow holes. However, the floor was not water at all. The works of David Atkins proved far more intense than what anyone had imagined.
With 70 projectors to begin the effects and 30 projectors assisting the coordination David Atkins continued to deliver some of his best work yet.
Following the whale segment Atkins surprised many with Rhythms of the Falls, a fiddling duel. The floor began to turn into visuals of the Canadian Maple leaf as narrator Donald Sutherland quoted explorer George Vancouver. The voice of Donald Sutherland was smooth, patient, and deep.
Segment after segment David Atkins did not disappoint. When the show was about to end skiers slowly dropped down by harness marking the great white mountains used in sporting events.
Governor Michaelle Jean's declared that the Winter Games have begun prior to K. D. Lang's rendition of Hallelujah.
The musical talents within tonight's ceremonies included Bryan Adams, Nelly Furtado, Sarah Mclaughlin, and other well known musicians. A bright night with great songs from voices of peaceful range.
Brilliant, masterful, David Atkins would be the talk of the 2010 Winter Olympics for years to come.
Even though David Atkins had a spending budget far less than Beijing had to work with, Atkins spent his time and money wisely, hands down.

ceremonies.
Most heartily agree with, "The voice of Donald Sutherland was smooth, patient, and deep." In addition, I felt Mr. Sutherland's very unique cadence greatly enhanced the narrative and surprisingly, quite sucessfully, competed with, and complimented, all of the superb pageantry and performance of the cerimonies.
Lori, the opening ceremony was gorgeous and a great learning experience!
I gave up on it after the first hour it put me to sleep.
I just love the Olympics! Especially the opening ceremonies, Cheers!
Good review of the opening to these Olympics.
