London Born, London Bred
Beckham is a London lad, and he was born not that far from where Tottenham play. He said that he would only consider a move back to Manchester United, if he were to join the premier league again, however, Harry Redknapp who is the current Tottenham boss said that he spoke with Beckham and that he is keen to join spurs on a short term loan.
If he were to join the London club, it would mark a sensational return to English football. Beckham left the Premier League seven and a half years ago when he joined Real Madrid, after a falling out with Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Harry Redknapp sees Beckham as the ideal squad player for spurs, as they continue on through their impressive season. While Aaron Lennon is considered to be first choice for spurs down the right flank, Beckham would give him some much needed competition. David Bentley is Tottenham's other right sided midfielder, but he is perma-crocked and it looks like Redknapp wants to send him out on loan to regain some fitness.
Beckham Makes Headlines elsewhere
Aside from football, Beckham has also been in the news this week for other reason. The alleged encounter with a prostitute in 2007, has come back into public light, after Beckham filed a lawsuit against Irma Nici, a Bosnian born prostitute. You can read about that story here. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/6169012/caught_offside_beckham_sex_scandal.html?cat=9
No doubt, fans of soccer would love to see Beckham back in the premier league. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest English players of all time, and many would love to see him play in his native country one more time, before he calls time on his illustrious playing career.

Post a CommentThe whole loaning process in Soccer is essential, and really a great way to keep players fit, if they are not getting played by their parent club. In England, teams do not take a break during the winter like most clubs in the world, so him coming to england will be of benefit to him and LA Galaxy. He currently has 1 year remaining on his contact with Galaxy, then i think he will retire from the game and will focus on youth development.
I'm surprised that Beckham made a comment that he would consider going back - I wonder how long he has in his present contract. It's also good for him that he can get "loaned" out - now that's not something to happen in American football :)
Thumbs up!
Good reporting, cheers :)
