David Letterman Reveals Brooklyn Decker as Sports Illustrated's 2010 Swimsuit Issue Cover Model

Letterman Gets in a Playful Jab at New Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown as Well

Although it was supposed to have been kept under wraps, the secret of Brooklyn Decker being this year's cover girl model for the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue has been out for awhile. Still, even with the advance "leak," the "secret" was revealed/confirmed on "The Late Show with David Letterman" Monday night as planned, and the beautiful, 22-year-old blue-eyed blonde Brooklyn Decker's name was added to the host of beautiful models -- like Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, and Christie Brinkley -- that have graced the covers of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue over the years.

In typical David Letterman fashion, a bit of misdirection was applied. When announcing the current model for the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Letterman at first pointed to a shrouded billboard that, once the covering was removed, depicted the nude image of newly elected Massachusetts Senator (Dave gave him an upgrade to Governor) Scott Brown (and it was not a Photoshopped image; Brown posed for the picture for Cosmopolitan back in the 1980's).

"Any opportunity to be naked," Letterman complained, "that guy jumps all over it. Don't you just hate people like that, that can't wait to take their clothes off and ruin your evening?"

But before those not in-the-know about Scott Brown's flirtation with male modeling became convinced that Sports Illustrated had finally gone co-ed for its 2010 Swimsuit Issue, cameras returned to the same covered billboard in Times Square. This time when the covering came down, a much taller Brooklyn Decker (she's 5' 9") stood thigh-deep in water above the New York City streets, clad in a canary bikini, teasing viewers with the top draped over her left shoulder, her left arm covering her breasts.

Although it is Brooklyn Decker's first Sports Illustrated cover, the model has done work for Sports Illustrated for five years. She says it has been a dream of hers, that every model that appears in Sports Illustrated hopes that she will some day be the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model.

As soon as she was officially announced as the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model, Brooklyn Decker took to Twitter and posted to her followers: "THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! I Wish I could respond to every single one of you but thank you so much for your AMAZINGLY sweet tweets!"

That reads a lot better than Scott Brown's acceptance speech, where he told his followers that his two daughters were "available."

Be that as it may, the beautiful Brooklyn Decker is not available, having married tennis great Andy Roddick in April 2009.
